Working from home is one of the most incredible adventures in the world. You have freedom beyond your greatest dreams with unlimited income potential and the ability to follow a passion that doesn't feel like a job!
You can even start your own blog if that's your dream goal, through companies like Bluehost without breaking the bank. But just like the start of any business, it takes time to build. Sometimes it can take years, or if you are really focused, months to create a full-time income.
But how do you know if you will be a success before you spend months or even years trying to build a profitable business online?
It's a question that often comes up because we fear the unknown. We want to know because taking a risk is scary! The reward can be great if you simply allow it. But you have got to be willing to take that risk and stop being afraid to try new things.
Start by allowing yourself to relate to others. And by relate I mean keeping it real. If your followers can identify with you, relate to you, then they tend to support you as well. It doesn't matter if you are not popular in the real world, if you can relate to others online, then those are your tribe.
But you also need to get to know your tribe. What are their wants, their needs? What motivates them? What problems do they have and is it something you can help them solve? With all of this knowledge comes the great reward of being able to create content that you can market to your tribe.
Everything you see me write is a solution to a problem someone I know is experiencing. Every affiliate that I promote is a solution to that problem.
What makes you stand out from everyone else is when you can identify and understand the problems of your tribe and then provide a solution. That is what gives you the power to become a huge success.
There will be days, however, when you have got to be relentless. You have got to keep fighting until you get the results you want with your business.
But all seriousness and no fun can make your business seem dull and boring to customers like your tribe who could lose interest and move on to someplace else. So be sure you are making your work from home business a little bit fun for your readers.
Also, try to set deadlines when at all possible. This is a big one for me because a lot of times my ADHD tends to get in the way. But setting deadlines do help keep a person like me accountable for my income goals.
And keep moving forward through motivation. Improve your brand, your business by learning new skills! The world wide web is always growing, always changing and you as an entrepreneur must be ready for that change if you want to increase your income.
Always be willing to be a part of new social media platforms. They are the doorway to promoting you and your online business.
And if you're an extreme introvert like me, be willing to get out of your comfort zone. Trust me, I know it's hard! But as an entrepreneur, you have got to step away from your fears and out of your comfort zone. I promise you, amazing things will begin to happen when you do.
In the meantime, keep that positive attitude of yours in check. It's easier to just quit than to keep going when you are working from home. Having a positive attitude is a must when things look tough. If you are willing to keep believing you are going to become a success, it will happen.
Just remember, you have also got to do the work. You cannot expect to succeed in working from home if you barely doing the work. You have got to be willing to take on the crap jobs and improve through learning.
You have also got to care about your tribe, your readers. Caring is not just when they agree with you on a topic you have posted or a product they have ordered from you. There is more to caring than that. Caring means even if you disagree with that reader, you connect with them, not ignore them or hide when they don't always share your opinion.
Then, take it a step further by caring about your competitors. If you see your competition struggling, perhaps share their link on a topic or product you know can help resolve one of your tribes' problems. As long as you remain focused on keeping your readers' needs a priority, people will notice.
If you really want your tribe to take notice, go above and beyond what others are doing in your niche. Give them more and improve, improve, improve.
Finally, think outside of the box. Thinking outside has always gotten me higher up the success ladder in management and now online working from home. In the past, I only considered myself as a freelance writer and author, but then I took a risk, I started a podcast several months ago.
To my surprise, I found that I enjoyed podcasting and have started to see an increase in income because of it. One of the biggest advantages of podcasting is being able to promote myself to companies like Spotify Radio! Podcasters have a great advantage because people can listen to you almost anywhere, even while driving in their car.
