Zilong was born in Cadia Riverlands, a tranquil and pleasant place. In his hazy memory, he remembered his father as a wandering craftsman. He journeyed back and forth between the north and south every year as the seasons changed, while Zilong's mother smiled as she held their young infant in her arms and sat in their carriage, watching Zilong's father yell all the way.
But it was the end of his memories of his parents. A fierce wind attacked and damaged their carriage on their way to their next destination, scaring away the horses pushing them along. After the wind died down, the child Zilong was left alone, his parents having vanished. In his powerlessness, the young Zilong roamed for seven days over the lonely wastelands. Zilong shown resilience and capability well beyond that of the average human, never giving up in his struggle for survival despite his despair and numerous hardships. A white-bearded elderly guy with wide robes and gaping sleeves glided down to Zilong just as he was about to pass out.

Zilong arrived to the beautiful temple of the Great Dragon after ascending a seemingly endless flight of steps. He was taken in by the Great Dragon and spent seven years at the Dragon Altar.
After these seven years, the Great Dragon stated that he would choose a successor from either Zilong or Ling, despite the fact that he had not taken any new apprentices in many years. The Great Dragon, on the other hand, did not choose the contest winner, the far more brilliant Ling, as his successor. Instead, he chose Zilong, who lacked his peer's ability.
The Great Dragon's choice astounded and perplexed everyone. The Dragon Altar's followers all questioned this ordinary young man's strength and why the Great Dragon had picked him as his successor. Only the Great Dragon was aware of the potential hidden behind Zilong's ostensibly commonplace appearance. The strongest would always compete to show off their strength, while the underdog would compete to build their strength among his followers. The strongest will never be able to match the tenacity and open-mindedness of someone who is hungry to achieve new heights of excellence.

The Great Dragon exiled Yu Zhong because he was driven insane by ambition. He unexpectedly retrieved the Black Dragon's reversed scale and returned with a fury. Zilong, Baxia, Ling, and Wanwan established the Oriental Fighters under the supervision of the Great Dragon, shouldering the enormous burden of safeguarding this tranquil and beautiful region from those who would destroy it.
