Badab Soort (Persian: ) is a natural site located 95 kilometers (59 miles) south of Sari and 7 kilometers (4.3 miles) east of Orost town in Mazandaran Province, northern Iran. It is made up of a series of stepping travertine terrace formations that were formed thousands of years ago when flowing water from two mineral hot springs cooled and deposited carbonate minerals on the slope.
The springs of Badab Soort are two separate mineral springs with differing natural properties, located at an elevation of 1,840 meters (6,040 feet) above sea level. The first spring has very salty water that collects in a small natural pool; its water is thought to have medical capabilities, particularly as a treatment for rheumatism and some types of skin disorders and ailments.
