Comfort Zone
22nd, January 2022.
In the midst of your routine, the days almost the same, it's easy to miss what really matters.
In that comfortable zone, sometimes we forget to build success...and if you're not careful, you can become a victim of your own comfort.
Luckily, outside the comfort zone is where life happens. Focusing on what you are passionate about, pursuing big ideas that excite you and striving for success is what makes a day in the zone a day well spent.
Creating these moments requires us to be uncomfortable, to shine light into the dark corners where fear lives and fight back when our self-doubt tries to steal our happiness.
Success isn't a destination, it's a journey.
Comfort zone is state of mind that is characterized by an individual's confident reliance on the protection, support, or patronage of another person or group.
"A comfort zone is a place where you hide in a world that's got nothing for you."
There comes a moment when you have to stop asking if you can do something, and start asking if you should. That moment came for me when I found myself at a crossroads. I was staring at the big question every young entrepreneur faces: When should I grow my company? I had been working on my startup Success all by myself for the past year, and it was finally time to find out if anyone else would want to help me take it to the next level.
The more successful you are, the more time and energy you’ll spend avoiding discomfort.
You’ll develop an instinct to create and follow routines to protect your comfort, even if they’re not the most efficient or inspiring.
You’ll start selling yourself short, being just “good enough,” instead of truly challenging yourself to be better.
With each challenge you face, you’ll develop a stronger desire to avoid the discomfort.
Over time, the easy path becomes your comfort zone.
When we take on new challenges, our brain craves novelty. Comfort is familiar and safe. Novelty is exciting and risky. As humans, we naturally go for novelty. Although this tendency can lead to better opportunities and experiences, it also biases us against more difficult challenges which creates a bias to comfort.
When your comfort zone becomes your cage.
Everyone knows that feeling of being stuck in a rut, you’re too comfortable to take the risk and reach out for something new. The fear of change paralyzes us, but we must remember the comfort zone is a temporary resting place, not our permanent address.
Life is a journey, and we need to be open to new roads, new ideas and new perspectives. Sometimes we all just need a little push.
The truth is there are people, who want nothing more than to see you succeed. There are people looking for your new idea, or solution to their problem. They hunger for your message, or content that will change their life for the better. They yearn for your product or service that will deliver them from their daily routine.
It's an idea that many of us think we can relate to. Whether you're talking about a life that's too small for our ambitions or worlds that are too big for our capabilities, it's an idea that we've all had to consider from time to time.
For some, understanding the limits of your comfort zone is no big deal. For others, it's a daily topic of conversation and something that literally defines their relationship to the world around them. How one chooses to relate to his or her comfort zone is often how they choose to see their future. And it's not a binary decision - your comfort zone isn't something you achieve or fail at, but rather one that you live in and relate to on an ongoing basis.
Any given individual will have multiple comfort zones, each one specific to the activity involved.
You are absolutely right. We need to get out of our comfort zones.
