Full Life
Almost 8 pm. The rain suddenly arrived. From slow, slowly, to hard. The sound of people screaming in a nearby house of worship was loud.
Some friends gathered in front of the house. Some smoke. Some brought snacks. I sat from inside the house, watching them.
The air is hot today. There is a floating stuffy feeling. I looked back at my breath. Stomach up, stomach down, there is air in and out of the nose.
Hands in contact with computer keyboard. Smooth, it's a felt sensation. The body rests on the chair. Buttocks touch the soft upholstery of the chair. Breath in. Breath out. Stomach up. Stomach down. There is air through the nose.
There is silence inside. There is peace in the heart. The mind is clear of concepts. There is only pure awareness in the here and now.
The wall clock is ticking. Tech. Tech. Tech. No pause. No rest. The sound of rain hitting the roof. Brrrr. heavy. Slowly, it slowed down. Now, only a drizzle remains.
Breath in. Breath out. Stomach up. Stomach down. There is air in and out of the nose. Body feels hot. The desire to take a bath grows. However, the dishes piled up. There is restlessness coming.
Take a shower first, or wash the dishes first? Restlessness comes. Doubts come. Before, they didn't exist. Laziness appears. Ah, you can wash the dishes tomorrow, right? Bathing is also not urgent. No one is bothered by body odor.
Breath in. Breath out. Stomach up. Stomach down. There is air in and out of the nose. Consciousness enters. The chair moves. Computer abandoned. Hands busy washing dishes, until clean.
Breath in. Breath out. Stomach up. Stomach down. There is air in and out of the nose. This is life. Everything is done with awareness. As often as possible, return with the breath. It guarantees concentration and calm. I call it the one-way mind. Asian spiritual traditions call it meditation. Some call it Samadhi. Name doesn't matter. Obviously, it's refreshing.
When anxiety arises, be aware. Back with the breath. When joy arises, be aware. Back with the breath. Our mind is like an empty room. It is open to all. He is not favoritism. It is as wide as the universe itself.
There's a feeling coming. There are thoughts coming. There are emotions coming. They stayed for a while, then left without a trace. Enjoy all that. Be aware of all that. Nothing escapes consciousness. All are in the empty room of consciousness that is as wide as the universe.
There is nothing to chase blindly. Nothing to cling to. Just relax. All of this is temporary. Breath in. Breath out. Stomach up. Stomach down. There is air in and out of the nose.
