Don't Worry About Misfortune
Accepting the situation and hoping for a better situation are not two contradictory things. The two complement each other, and therefore can be reconciled, only the timing is different.
We accept what has happened and hope for what has not happened, so not the other way around. Expecting something that has already happened is making it up and worrying about something that hasn't happened is torturing oneself.
How a person reacts to events that have occurred and how he views the future greatly influences feelings and actions that must be taken in the present. Lamenting over failure, misfortune, or pain that has happened and worrying about something that will not necessarily happen makes a person helpless in facing the future. present and pessimistic about the future. This pessimistic attitude will weaken and rob him of his great strength and become the main obstacle to his progress.
All events that have happened to a person are not to be lamented but accepted to be taken as the most valuable and important lesson for his further development. Suffering is a method used by God. to educate people to improve their living systems, raise their enthusiasm, sharpen their intelligence, struggle to overcome the forces that challenge them so that they become stronger, more dynamic, and more reliable.
Accepting circumstances is the attitude of people whose souls are enlightened. It becomes the most effective therapy in overcoming despair. Unfortunately, most people are wrong in responding to it. This attitude of acceptance is needed for everything that has happened, but for everything that hasn't happened, it must be addressed with hope.
The essence of life is faith and hope. When a person expects his life to be better and he believes in the power of God he can achieve it, then he will be better, while if he always feels anxious it means he allows his bad condition to continue for the rest of his life.
The real reality of life is the present. The past is impossible to return to and the future when the time comes, it becomes the present. Our present state is the result of all the actions we have done in the past, and what we do in the present affects our future state.
Therefore, now is not the time for us to complain but the time for us to start acting to realize our hopes. So, never give up hope.
Hope is the attachment of a person's will to something he wants will happen in the future. With hope, a pessimistic attitude changes to optimism. Someone who hopes for something and is optimistic about being able to achieve it will try his best to realize his hopes. A person who expects his deeds to be accepted by God. will try as much as possible to improve the quality of worship. A sinner who expects forgiveness from God. will repent from committing his sins. Someone who is struck by a disaster and hopes to get out of the disaster will try hard to overcome it. A student who hopes to become a class champion will try to make it happen by studying hard. Yes, hope makes life full of enthusiasm.
Hope and enthusiasm must be built on solid foundations. The foundation in question is an awareness of all the shortcomings and weaknesses that exist in us. People who are satisfied with the knowledge they have learned, with the good deeds they have done, immediately their enthusiasm will be paralyzed. On the other hand, the awareness of his own shortcomings will arouse his enthusiasm. Everyone must let his enthusiasm continue to grow so that with that enthusiasm his determination to realize his hopes becomes even stronger. Of course, this is not an easy matter, especially for people who always try to cover up all the shortcomings that exist in themselves, especially for those who are infected with arrogant nature.
To raise this awareness, we should not calculate how much knowledge we have mastered, but think about how much we have not learned and mastered. We should not count how many good deeds we have done, but think about how many good deeds we have not done. We should not close our ears to the criticism of others, but listen to them because criticism often helps us to see the shortcomings that exist in ourselves.
Starting from this awareness of imperfection, we move forward towards perfection. Starting from the realization that there is still a lot of knowledge that we have not mastered, we move forward towards the perfection of science by continuing to explore it. From the awareness that there are still many commands of God and His Messenger that we have not done, we move forward towards the perfection of worship. And from the awareness of the few friends we know, we move forward towards wider association.
Hope and enthusiasm are not owned by people who are absorbed in lamenting the events that have happened and drowning in anxiety about events that are not necessarily going to happen. Hope and enthusiasm are also not shared by people who have had enough and stop with the good that is in the present. But hope and enthusiasm are only owned by people who can take lessons from events that have occurred in the past and are aware of the shortcomings that exist in themselves as a consideration for all their actions in the present for the sake of their future.
The right attitude is that we accept and are satisfied with what has happened and we have achieved, but now is the time for us to start acting to realize those expectations with enthusiasm.
Every day means a new life. Happy are those who can fill the days of their life with knowledge and good deeds, not by lamenting the past and worrying about the future.
