Everyone in life has one desire or the other, but one thing that is sure is everyone desires to be great in his/her field or area of specialisation. However, for people to be great means there are lots of things to know and understand ranging from the meaning of greatness to what makes one great. In the cause of becoming great a lot of sacrifices are needed to be made. In this article I will be unfolding the hidden truth so many do not know or probably misinterpreted about being great in life.

What Determines Greatness?

For people to refer to you as a great person in a field of study or in the society, it means such a person must have achieved some things people think it is unbelievable, the following are what to look out for in a great person

• How well you positively impact on others :- Your wealth, properties, experience, fame or title doesn't mean you are a great person. With all your possessions, is there anyone you have helped to fulfill his or her dream in life. What you have can never be use to measure your greatness but by the number of people that have been helped with what you have ( wealth, wisdom, power, influence and time). Helping others to get to their promise land, is one the things that determines your greatness.

• Ability to solve societal problems:- Is there a way in which you have helped your society to overcome something that seems to be their greatest challenge? To be able to solve societal problems, doesn't mean you have to be super rich, but with that idea and ready mind to help others, you make yourself available for them when they need you, many times your presence may be the comfort they need to overcome some difficult situations.

• How much people trust your judgement /decision :- You don't necessarily need to wait for the people to make you their leader before you start making good decisions, this will help you gain the trust of others. Even though you may not be elected as the leader in your society, the people will still see you as their ever true leader.

• Living a sacrificial life :- Those that are great are not the leaders or politicians that have climbed up to the highest level in different offices through their corrupt ways of living, nor the business tycoons or the richest people in the society that knows nothing but to disregard other people's rights. But those who are ready to lay aside their interests and focused on developing their community and helping others achieved their aims with no selfish interests.

• Always stand for the truth :- No matter how tough the situation may be, you must be able to stand for the truth, you may think everyone are against you but believe me people are watching you, they know what you are passing through.

• Never trade your integrity for wealth or fame :- Don't allow your financial situation or pressure from those that knows nothing but enslaving others to make you lose your integrity. If you fail, then you have failed all, please be careful.

There are just few great men and women out there, others are just thieves and opportunist who are ready to loot others at every single opportunity they have.
