The IPL Governing Council will formally announce these decisions at a detailed meeting next week. Earlier, the Press Trust of India (PTI) reported that the IPL schedule had been finalized. The participating teams have already been informed of the new schedule.
A BCCI official told PTI, "It has been decided so far that the IPL will start on September 19 (Saturday) and the final will be played on November 8 (Sunday, India's weekly holiday). A total of 51 days. Which would be great for the franchise and other stakeholders. '
Meanwhile, the Indian cricket team will leave for Australia soon after the IPL. The four-match Test series between the two teams will start on December 3 in Brisbane. The Indian team should have enough time to stay in the quarantine for 14 days before the start of the field match, so it has been decided to end the IPL on November 8 without making it too long.
The official added, "The Indian team will be in quarantine for 14 days as per the law of the Australian government during the visit. The good side of the IPL's 51-day schedule is that it will not have too many pairs in one day. As before, five pairs of matches will be held.
The franchises are expected to start training on August 20 to take part in the IPL, which is set to take place in late September. So that they have at least four weeks to practice and arrange the accessories as they like.
