Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) authorities have said that patients with corona will need to be followed up for about five years after treatment.
This information was revealed during the inauguration of the post-covid follow-up clinic for the treatment of patients who have recovered from coronavirus for the first time in the country today.

Follow-up services will be provided to patients with Covid-19 every Saturday and Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This clinic will serve as the primary care center. From here, patients who need advice from other departments including Pulmonology, Cardiology, Nephrology, Neurology, Psychiatry, Physical Medicine, will be referred to the relevant outpatient department.
During the inauguration, the Vice-Chancellor said that Kovid-19 attacks various parts of the human body and can cause long-term damage. This is why patients with moderate to severe coronavirus require long-term follow-up.
He said that if long-term symptoms and reactions of different parts of the body could be identified through this follow-up, it would be possible to save a large number of patients from long-term disease permanence and death.
He also said that Post Covid-19 follow-up service has already been launched in various countries including UK, China and Italy.
The Vice-Chancellor said that August is a month of mourning. This grief must be turned into energy with passion, concentration, service spirit and devotion.
He said that since March 6, BSMMU has been playing a leading role in medical science in Bangladesh during this disaster through fever clinic, telemedicine service, outdoor service, PCR lab service, separate corona center and various researches.
