When Is It Not Okay To Not Be Okay

Have you watched the Binibining Pilipinas 2021? Upon watching it, there is only one question that became very interesting for me and this is the question of Mr. Boy Abunda to one of the candidates of Binibining Pilipinas 2021 last sunday, July 11, 2021 has became one of the main topics of netizens on the said competition on social media after crowning the winner. As I scroll my news feed on my facebook account, I read a lot of comments saying that the given question to the candidate was a bit hard than the other judges' questions to other candidates. Others gave their own answers and opinion, others also make fun of it and started creating a meme about it. Pilipino eh! 😁.

However, the question given by Mr.Boy Abunda is really timely and is really need to get the attentions of everyone since a lot of people are experiencing it, especially when the pandemic starts. A lot of people lost their love ones, lost their jobs, got infected by covid, lost their businesses, sold their assets just to survive in this pandemic and so on, though it's not all about the physical things we've lost, it might be getting bullied, pressure, when someone broke our heart, when we started to feel that life isn't letting us to be happy etc. Those are the factors that may affect ones mental health especially if it's not handled properly and didn't get the attention it needed in order to survive these dark times in our life.

If someone were asked me "When is it not okay to not be okay?", this would be my answer.

It's not okay to not be okay once we feel in ourselves that we can't handle it by ourselves anymore. If we think that even though we have already gave or did everything that we think that could help us but still ended up with no progress at all. If we think that it is also affecting our health, our mind and emotions. It's important to always examine ourselves mentally and emotionally, if we think we are experiencing all of these we should start to consult ourselves to someone. There's nothing wrong to seek for help to our friends, family, partners, professionals etc. Their advices and presence is really important for us. As what the saying said "No man is an Island", God created 7 billion people to help each other and live together. Don't ever let yourself feel that you are alone, someone is always there for you.. we are here for you :).

I've been through to this kind of battles too. I don't know how to be happy anymore during those time, sometimes I wish it was all only a dream.. that one day I will wake up and all the pain I felt was gone. But, I am so happy as I started to realized that those days actually taught me lot of things especially on how to handle my mind and emotions. Self experiences is indeed the best teacher.

Mental health is a serious matter that's why it's okay to seek for help from others, it may be your parents, siblings, closest friend, your husband, your boyfriend/girlfriend, your teacher or even strangers. It's okay to show our weaknesses to them as we are only a human. A human who are experiencing ups and downs in life and a human who has a weakness point.

There is so much thing to enjoy in life, just keep in mind that we should never give up. Just like seasons, our struggles and silent battles in life are just temporary. Never let our problems defeat us because victory is an action and surrender is only a choice.

To those people who are struggling right now. Be strong, you can do it! just trust yourself ♡♡♡.

Mental health really matters. There are some people think that its just an easy thing but its not... Fighting your own silent battles is really hard. I know that coz I've been there 😔
