Autophagy is a natural mechanism of the cell that excret disfunctional and unnecessary components from our body.AUTO means 'self' and PHAGY means 'EAT'.Together it means "self eating".It is also referred as self devouring ,it sounds like something you never want to happen in your body ,but it is beneficial to your overall health.

Autophagy helps to remove various stressors and toxins accumulate in our cells.It can also protect brain cells against accumulation of bad proteins that can cause neuro-degeneration.

BENIFITS OF AUTOPHAGY:

1) It removes the toxic proteins from the cells that may cause neurodegenerative disease such as Parkinson's a d Alzheimer's disease.

2)It prompts a larger amount of regeneration and healthy cells.

3)Recycling residual proteins.

4)Autophagy (self eating) minimize Apoptosis(cell death).

5)It provides energy and build blocks for cells that could still benefit from repair.

6)Autophagy improves skin health.

7)It helps to maintain standard weight.

8)It improves muscle performance.

9)It improves digestive systems.

10)Autophagy helps in good metabolism.

11) Helps to regulate inflammation.

12)Autophagy helps us to Fight against Infectious Disease.

All cancers start from some sorts of degenerative cells.But body can recognize those cells and can remove by using autophagic processes.

That's why many researchers said that 'Autophagy may reduce the risk of Cancer '.

We all know from above that,Autophagy means 'self eating'.So,it means that intermittent fasting and ketogenic diet are known to trigger Autophagy.
