Think Deep
THINK DEEP
Have you ever felt disappointed before?
Have you ever felt heartbroken?
Have you ever felt like no one cares, and alongside, you felt rejected?
Now, try to have a rethink.
Have you ever considered what possibly could have caused you such experience(s)? If not, then I guess you might find this interesting.
To start with, let's consider the illustration below.
A woman who is found heavy with a child sometimes quietly imagines the day her unborn child would come forth. In order words, she awaits the day her unborn child would come forth into the world. This alone makes her expectant. She wouldn't be expectant if she had no seed in her, right? Also, she wouldn't be expectant if she had gotten rid of the pregnancy, right?
It's not like am encouraging abortion oo, it's just an illustration. Remember, pregnancy takes a long process (nine months) for the proper growth of the child within a woman. Without such a process (which brings about growth), a woman would be found not to be pregnant. Therefore, she can't be expecting a baby.
Back to the woman that is pregnant.
If peradventure (God forbid ooo), an expectant mother loses her baby by any means, what would be of her? I guess you know she'd be sad for days, she may not even eat for days, and of course, she'd end up frequently soaking her pillow with tears. She'd pass through serious hell. And unfortunately, she becomes heartbroken.
But why?
She was heavy with seed within her for so long, she expected to have been a mother of a child like every other woman, but unfortunately, it turned out the other way round.
This could be a sad and heartbroken experience, right?
Anyways, I'd love to draw my point from this analogy.
Please get this;
When relating with a friend you believe you so much love with all your heart,
When doing good to people,
And again, when praying for others.
Try not to nurture any seed in your heart that could bring about making you expectant of anything good you think they can offer.
It's disastrous to allow ourselves to become expectant of any good thing anybody can offer us, no matter what beautiful thing we think we had done for them.
It's not just about the feeling popping up in our minds, it's about giving it space to grow and allowing our minds to strive for it. It's our place to abort such a feeling each time it flashes on our minds.
Yes, abort it, don't keep it.
Don't keep the pregnancy, abort it!
Whenever one feels disappointed by someone else's act, check well, one was once filled with expectations of good things from such "someone else".
When a lady (for instance), feels heartbroken by the actions or words of anybody (perhaps a guy or a lady like her who was just a friend) check closely, you'd discover she was at a point filled with beautiful hopes and expectations from that person she claims broke her heart.
It can't be doubted that whenever anyone feels rejected by the conduct of whomever, there had one time existed beautiful expectations in the heart of such a person which were overturned.
I hope we'd sooner realize that no matter how committed we are in a relationship, no matter how much good we do to others, and no matter how much we pray for others, if we fail to build our expectations and hopes on God (our Maker) we'd sooner pass through more feelings of heartbreaks, disappointments and rejections.
The bitter truth is, nobody owes you anything good (I mean anything good), but God owes you everything beautiful, yes, everything beautiful. Why not turn your eyes to Him?
Don't grow your expectations on whatever good thing anybody can offer you. Avoid heartbreaks, disappointments and pains.
Grow your hope and be expectant upon the promises of God over your life. He owns you.
You too can be the apple of His Eyes.
Know your worth. You are you and deserve the glorious life. You have to make your life stunning. But for this, you first need to care more about yourself than others. Hope you got it.
