Why Beauty Is Only Subjective
We are all familiar to the saying, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." It means beauty is only based on the person's perception. Someone might be beautiful in your eyes while it might be opposite to the others.
Shakespeare once said that "beauty is brought by the judgment of the eye." One might compliment how you look like and one might judge you for how you look like.
Beauty is cultural
Beauty is cultural because it varies every culture. Just like in Western society, for them having a tan skin is a lot more attractive while in Asian society, having a white skin is a lot more attractive. So, we cannot say one is beautiful not until we go came across a different culture where our perspectives towards beauty will totally be changed.
Beauty changes throughout the history
Who says only fashion trend change? Even the societal outlook towards beauty changed. During the ancient times, women likes to shave their brows because they want it to be thin. Having a thin eyebrows is really attractive during the old times which is also the reason why Mona Lisa has no brows. However, in the present time we are living in today, having a thick eyebrows is really pleasing and attractive. This is the reason why every women are dying to have their brows to be well done.
Beauty depends on someone's perspective
We know that everyone of us has different way of seeing things. We have our own interpretation of beauty. For me, I find white girls with pointed nose and blue eyes really very beautiful. That's only in my case because to others, that's not their own definition of being beautiful. So, we are all really different especially in terms of seeing someone's beauty.
Beauty is unique to each and everyone of us
Beauty is subjective because it is unique. There is no exact definition of beauty. We are all born with unique features and such unique features, we can use that to be more beautiful. This is how I see the beauty of every person in this world, their uniqueness stands the most regardless if it's an imperfections or not. Still, we are born with unique beauty and that is enough to say you are created beautiful in this world.
Beauty is highly impacted by society
The society has a big impact in defining beauty. This is why beauty standards are raise and making it the absolute definition of someone's beauty. One of the best example is having a big butt, a big bust, a tiny waist a well defined jawline, a thick lips and even a nose with rhinoplasty. These are very insane but this is how the society wants to portray beauty nowadays. While this is beautiful to a lot of people, I find this things unattractive. In fact, I find the opposite of this more attractive. It depends on you whether you will embrace the societal beauty standards or not.
Beauty can't only be defined in physicality
One thing we forgot is that beauty is not always in the physical appearance. Sometimes beauty is more intense and accurate when seen inside. This is what we call beauty in someone's personality and unique characteristics. In fact, we don't remember people by their faces but on their personalities that we met. We remember people by their laughs, smiles and even humors.
Beauty is defined as the quality present in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure or deep satisfaction to the mind, whether arising from the sensory manifestations or qualities. In the world we live nowadays, there are so many standards in being beautiful but we don't need to follow them. Being beautiful doesn't need to follow the societal standards, just be the real you and show the world how beautiful you are without proving it. Always remember that beauty is always on the eye of the beholder.
