Where Do Our Souls Go After Death: Heaven or Eternal End?
Have you even think if heaven or hell after death is real or not? Do you always think what will happen to our soul once we die? Have you wondered if there's life after death?
There are so many questions running in my mind about death and soul. I always think that there is something waiting for us once we die in this world we are living in but the question is, what might it be? Is this what they call the paradise God created for people who believes and worship him? Well what about those who have different views in life and those who worship the trees and the nature. Are they still eligible to live in the Paradise that God created or there is no paradise at all?
Here I have listed few of the beliefs and religions answering the question where do our souls go after death and each of them have different explanations and meaning of what it means to die.
Your soul goes to heaven if you believe in Jesus Christ and Hell if you refuse to
We all know that Christ died in the cross for our sins. In the Bible, it states that believe in Jesus Christ and you will be saved. You can receive eternal life. For the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. You need to trust Christ for he is the son of God. In Christianity, your salvation is your faith towards Christ and if you don't have the faith then you will be sent to the hell.
Reincarnation: the life after death and where "karma" is rooted
Can you imagine the cycle of our never ending life? Reincarnation is the belief of our soul's transmigration into another body or physical form after the death. In simple terms, we live again after we die but this time into another physical body. Reincarnation is taught in Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism and Sikhism. In these religions, they believe in Karma. They believe that what you do today in your life will also affect in your next life. If you do good, you will be rewarded with a good karma and when you do evil, you will also get the same energy in your next life.
The underworld and the afterlife in ancient Egypt
Ancient Egyptians believe in the underworld and afterlife. This is also the reason why they invented mummification. Egyptians believe that when you die and your soul leaves your body, it is only temporary. They believe that your soul will still return to your body because there's still an afterlife and in order for you to successfully return to your physical body, your organs should be intact and that's how the body preservation started in Egypt before. Anyway have you heard a dead Egyptian who return into this world?
In Atheism, it is the end of your existence
You cease to exist. Atheist sees death as a natural part of our life. They believe that nothing will happen to us after death and there is no paradise or another life. We die and end. According to some atheist, religion is only created because of the unpleasant inevitability of death.
No one knows what will happen after death. It's a mystery that no one in the mankind can ever solve or maybe someone in the future will. We don't know where our souls will be once we departed from our body. All we know is we will die and we will never come back in this body. Life is a blessing and death is a nightmare but who knows what is waiting for us after death, it could be a feeling of joy or maybe it's the end of everything. We should live like we have never lived because once we die no one can remember every single thing and everything will become just a forgotten memory. Once you die no one will ever remember you in a next century unless you're a celebrity but even the celebrities are forgotten too. We don't know if our souls will meet again or we will all go together in the same place. I think death is a proof that nothing is permanent in this world. Everything that lives dies.
