Beat The Odds of Self-Doubt: Good Confidence
“This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased!” (And a voice from heaven said -Matthew 3:17 )
I remember our Ms.Universe Philippines Pia winning line when she won the crown last 2015 by saying "... Be confidently beautiful, with a heart!"
There are many ways on how we can show and see this confidence from within, some show it genuinely by being loud and some hide it in silence. Sometimes we fake it because of fear and sometimes by being superior while feeling inferiority inside.
When in self doubt, we usually tend to put up a mask of arrogance because we lack confidence in who we are and what we can do. When in self-doubt instead of discovering our potentials, we look outside to invalidate other people, their work or contribution so we could be "powerful and superior". I have written several blogs about the importance of our self-talk too and our I AMs (with the help of several online teachers) and if you want to check it here's one entitled,
"Stuck in 3D Victimization? Access The Kingdom Within" https://read.cash/@SuperJulalaine/stuck-in-3d-victimization-access-the-kingdom-within-f22c1789
Beating the odds of self-doubt is possible when we are also surrounded of people who inspired us to go and those who are already in the life or dreams we wish for. Good people and council will lead us into better self-discovery. Spend some great time with 5-10 people who are already there. Their humility towards loving themselves and energy of good or virtuous confidence will awe and please us to try it too and we will know the difference of the good from bad assurance and dispositions.
Let's use these verses to support us more in building good tenacity or confidence
Proverbs 3 By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; 4 by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches. 5 A wise man is full of strength, and a man of knowledge enhances his might, 6 for by wise guidance you can wage your war, and in abundance of counselors there is victory.
Proverbs 12:15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man is he who listens to counsel.
Proverbs 11:14 Where there is no guidance the people fall, but in abundance of counselors there is victory.
Proverbs 15:22 Without consultation, plans are frustrated, but with many counselors they succeed.
Jeremiah 17:7-8 Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought.
Proverbs 3:31-32 Do not envy a violent man or choose any of his ways, for the LORD detests a perverse man but takes the upright into his confidence.
Hebrews 10: 35-36Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.
Superiority is an extinct authority and extremely unlikable if all we do is power tripping with no significant value to give to others since we don't feel our worth inside thus we can't give such esteem too, people can feel this vibe and we have to cast it away, it's not ethical confidence. When we realize that we are going beyond the boundary of true power by having a conceited, prideful and pretensious attitude, may we shift the checker on ourselves, on our self-doubt and negative self-talk.
Seeing ourselves in the lense of our God will surely improve our identity and on how we deal in outside world and how we can perform humbly with excellence. If only we know the wonders of our authentic nature, there are more things that we can yet to explore about us. Quoting Psalm 139 and 1 John.
Psalm 139: 13-14 For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.
1 John 4-18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.
Some of the unethical confidence confided by our Holy Book includes
Rejoicing when your adversary falls
Envying the wicked hearts and lips of trouble
More that we can find there 😄
I believe number 1 falls into the category of power tripping and self-inferiority. That is why Jesus told us to pray for those who curse and slander us, they don't know what they're doing and obviously how valuable they are. While number 2 is self explanatory, do not reflect and copy their false confidence. Let us then be rooted in our confidence to our Papa from above. Live humbly in the land and know your self, your worth and capabilities in this unlimited possibilities.
May the evenness of good confidence be with you (not the odds) everytime you need it.
Proverbs 24-17 Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, and let not your heart be glad when he stumbles,
Proverbs 24-1 Be not envious of evil men, nor desire to be with them, 2 for their hearts devise violence, and their lips talk of trouble.
19 Fret not yourself because of evildoers,
and be not envious of the wicked, 20 for the evil man has no future; the lamp of the wicked will be put out.
Here's cheering on you to believe on how God sees you, may your self-doubt be replace of good confidence (of course with a heart),

It would be best to have confidence in things, as we should believe in them. ✨
