Why are We Breaking our New Year's Resolutions?
I saw many articles about New Year's resolutions, about how to stick to them, and even articles that are recommending some New Year's resolutions.
I personlly think that it is totally wrong to recommend someone what he or she will decide and do in new year.
Also, you cannot learn someone how to stick to anything.
Only what we can do is to support other people.
We can support each other to stick to our plans and resolutions. And, we definitely should do that, because we all need support sometimes.
There are many lists with the most common New Year's resolutions, and on almost all of them you will find decisions like, lose weight, go to the gym every week, stop smoking, read more, ride bycicle and walk more, travel more...
And, at one point, people break them.
Why? Well, simply because they are not ready, they do not want to do it, not enough. People who decided to save money and later break their resolution do that because they, deep inside of themselves do not want to save money. This is just one example. When you decide something what you reallu want, you will be strong enough to stick to it, and to do it for a long time, so if you break it, that just means that you do not want it.
How can you fix that?
Well, fisr is to think about what you really want to. You need to be sure about what you want to. If you do not want ot work out or to save money, do not do it, just because someone told you you should, or you read somewhere that you should.
Next thing that can happen is that while you are thinking about your whole life, you can realize that you actually truly need something. And, you will wish it, with all your being.
What I am trying to say is that you should be sure what do you need in your life and what do you want in your life, when you are sure about those two things, it will be easy for you to stay on your way and to acheive your goal.
See you in next article!
