What Keeps Mafia so Storng?
There are varios criminal groups all around the world and nowadays it is common to call all of those groups 'mafia'. At first it was used only for criminal groups from Sicilia, later from the whole Italy, after that Italian criminal groups in United States of America, and today, we have mafia all arounbd the world, and we call all the mafia, simply mafia.
There are some specific groups od criminals in some countries, for example in Japan or Russia, but no matter what is specific to all those groups, there are some rules and some things that you can notice everywhere. In all countries, among all criminals, and that is what keeps them so strong.
Today, I will talk a bit about those things.
First of all, there is always a family in the center of the group. Leaders are members of one family and around of them there are their godfathers, cousins, bvest friends. People, who love eachother, trust eachother and will not betray eachother. They sit together, eat together, cry and starve together. That is why their relationships are so strong. They are family, that is natural. Even if someone betray them, leaders will not betray eachother. There is a rule set by Italian mafia about cheating. It says that if you are chating on your partner, who trusts you and sleeps next to you, you will betray anyone.
I think that is the most important thing. They keep eachother's back. They love and protect their families.
Next thing that is very important is that they know their place, all of them. There is a hierarchy. There is only one boss, only one capofamiglia, only one person is on the top, and all the people above them know where their places is. They know what they have to do and what is the way to get promoted.
Next thing is that they resepct rules of group. For example, do not cooperate with authorities or do not mess up with your friend's wife, or do not cheat on your wife. They just respect all that. They have their rules and the rules are helping them a lot. They have non toxic families, they are respected by their friends. All those side thngs that can help you with any job you decide to do. It is that simple, just resepect the rules, and other people will respect you.
Never cooperate with authorities. It is called omerta and it really means never. No matter what problem you hav, no matter what you need, do not cooperate with authorities, specially with the police. Of course, they have personal documents, but for example if their home is robbed, they do not call the police, they solve that on their own way. They have their own way, they know things, they know people.
And, that is the next rule. Pay for what you can pay. They are dangerous, and we all know that, but they pay a lot of money to their lawyers, to their doctors, to their designers... When they really want or really need something, they will pay for it. Do not make a problem, just pay. It is not true that 'If the suit is not on the house, the house is burnt'.
They are not making problems, if they do not have to. They will rather solve problems with money than with the force and guns. Serious criminals are usually gentlemans, they do not need attention, they do not attract attention, if they do not have to.
They have a goal and they know their path. I think that this one can sublimate all the things that I said before and I think that it is the point. They know what they want, it is not fame, it is not forcing people to do things, it is not lots of cheap woman, lots of drugs, alcohol...
They have families, they have business, they have code, and that is what is keeping them strong.
Of course, there are many criminals nowadays that do not have any code, but they came and they went. We will not remeber them. Nobody will respect them. They will not be on top. They will not last very long.
I have to say that I do not support any kind of crime, but as we all see, there are rules in crime, just like in any other job. And, people many times think that the easiest thing is to be a criminal. It is not there is always a risk and there are strict rules that you have to respect if you want to get serious money and to live for a long time.
And, for the end of this post there is one more thing similar to all the groups, similar to all the criminals, no matter if they are boss or the one who sells drugs on the street corner. After they end up in jail, after they lose everything, if you ask them 'Was it worth it?' All of them will say 'No.'
Because it is not worth it. People are born like that, born in those families, they cannot leave it, they cannot give up, but at the end of the day, it is not worth it.
