What about People we do not See?
Currently I am reading a book about two young people, who loved each other a lot, but they had no luck, they had no money, they had no chance, they had no choice, they only had each other. But, that was not enough, and the system destroyed their lives.
As I said, they only had each other, they were poor, they were4 on the edge, and someone pushed them over it. They fell. They lost their life battle.
Today, I would love to talk a bit about poor people, who have nothing and who seem to be invisible for us.
Those are people who do not go to school, who do not have medical insurance, who do not have real house. They live in illegal colonies on the edges of towns, big towns, small towns. Every town. I do not want to tell anything too specified because I know that you know who are those people. They have a problem. Actually lots of problems, and system sees them as problems. Which system? Every single system. They are out of systems.
But, you know what? They are as people as we are, we in the systems, you, me, he, she, his mother, her firend. All the people with names, that you know a lot about and that you repect a lot.
Those people from illegal colonies also have names, stories, fears, wants, but you do not know anything about them. They are not important for you or for anyone who is important for you. But they are people. And they deserve a chance. All of them.
I was thinking a bit about those extreme poor people, and I realized that they also have feelings, but that theis feelings are much stronger than ours. Same but stronger. They love each other, a lot. And maybe more than we can imagine, because they have only each other to love. They do not have jobs, houses or expansive clothes as we do. They do not love their things, because their things are not valuable, they love people. And their love is strong.
When they lose someone they love they suffer, and it seems to me that they suffer much more than we do because again they only have each other. All the worthy they have are other people.
Those people are connected to other people, deeply and strong. They have honest feelings. They are simple.
I do not have a solution for all the problems of those people, but I can tell you that you should think about them as people. Do not judge. Maybe, we also should not try to understand. Maybe we cannot understand that.
And, if you ask me if we are happy because of that, I do not know. Our lives are easier, but their feelings are stronger.
It is up to you to decide are they happier than we are.
See you soon,
SuncicaZ!
