Today, I would love to write a bit about plastic surgery. Nowadays, it is very popular, mostly women, but also men very often, are changing a lot of things on their bodies. Today, in 21st century, you can change your nose, the shape of your eyes, your lips, whole your face and body.

But, in the past, that was not easy at all. First of all, people were not using plastic surgery because they wanted, but because they have to. They had some serious problems, and because of that, they needed plastic surgery.

Ancient Egypt

In the ancient Egypt, people were interested into medicine, and they were doing many operations. They operated even brain. First write about plastic surgery is about 5,000 years old, and it is about the plastic surgery of nose of one man, who had very serious problem with his broken nose.

India

In India, in 8 cnetury BC we have some big steps in the section of plastic surgery. First of all, they had some very important surgeries of eyes. First of all cataract, and some reconstructive surgeries.

Also, some other ancient folks were doing some things that we can call plastic surgery. Roma, Greece, China...

New Century

In new century, big steps were made during the World War I, and a couple years after the war was finished. During the war many people were wounded, and some of those people had wounds on their faces, and that was really horrible. They were depressed because of the way their faces looked like. Because of that dosctors of that period had to do something important. They had to make big moves on, and they had to help all those people.

Harold Gilies is 'the father' of the modern plastic surgery, but his works were not great, and many people think that people looked worse after the surgery than before it. My personal opinion is that they were not looking better before. He did god job for that time.

After the World War II, plastic surgery was doing even better, and in years that came after the war, people, well mostly doctors and scientists, not all the people, made some great things, like silicons, various eyes that were made out of glass, vigs, medical sutures... and many other things that are used in plastic surgery.

And, as I said at the beginning, nowadays we have silicon, hyaluronic acid, juviderm, and many other materials that are used for plastic surgeries.

In my opinion, plasitc surgery can be really great, it can help many people, who were wounded, burned, broken... But, some people are used them in wrong purposes, many woman changed their looks totally, they do not look like themsleves. And, of course, it can always go wrong.
