There is no definite definition of what the question is. There is no specific type. However, the question is asked out of curiosity, no one disagrees. Questioning is seen in our society with a crooked eye. But there is no substitute for questioning for this historically proven knowledge, for transparency, for accountability. But to question is like a crime in our society!
Children are like clay. The clay is shaped like a tool or by hand, but when it is hardened or burned, it becomes permanent. In the same way, a child behaves in the same way as it develops from an early age. In our society, if a child asks a question or wants to know about something, he is stopped by threatening. In a threatening tone, the tender-hearted child is asked why so many questions? What is the benefit of knowing so much? Grow up, you will know everything. Shut up now. After a while, when the child starts studying in primary school, even if he wants to know something about the subject related to the text or something outside of it, he has to listen in a threatening tone, understand what I am teaching. Why so many questions ?
If you go beyond the boundaries of primary school to secondary school, if you want to know something from the teacher, of course, there is a slightly different answer. The answer comes from the teacher in the tone of strategy - you pay attention to my class. If you pay attention, you will get all the answers. And if you don't pay attention in class, you won't understand. In spite of hundreds of attention, if the subject is not understood, when the question is asked about the relevant subject, a harsh sentence comes from the teacher - where is the attention in the class? Do not understand such a simple thing! Where the hell! Fearing such a sad and bitter sentence of the teacher, the tender-hearted boys often say without understanding anything, G. Sir, I have understood everything. And there is no problem.
Having such a bitter experience in primary and secondary, the students lose the mentality of asking questions at the college-university level. As a result, in higher education, the teacher's lecture is listened to with one ear and taken out with the other ear, memorizing notes or books on the reading table and vomiting knowledge in the examination book is bringing the present higher education. Such a situation is more serious at the university level. Here a little harder sound can be heard from the teachers. Study at university and do not understand a little? How do you eat! Some even add it.
There are more different subjects outside the university curriculum. Different kinds of pressure come when you have a question or disagreement. When government students say something against a political organization, the repression of ordinary students with different tags seems to be a kind of recognition. The consequences of questioning at the social level are even more dire. In our village-headed country, most of the villages are led by rural Moral-Matabbars. Most of them are semi-educated or illiterate. But most of the villages are being run by illiterate people, whether due to political influence or due to family traditions. They do various important work including land disputes, trial and arbitration of various crimes. But if an educated young man ever opposes their unjust and monopolistic decision, he is called a heretic.
The consequences of questioning at the national level are horrendous. Anyone who disagrees with a government decision or agreement is considered a traitor. It has become a tradition of our country. When that government came to power, everyone adopted such a policy. BUET student Abrar had to give up his life for disagreeing with the agreement with India. There are hundreds of such examples.
Asking questions about what, why, and how satisfies the questioner's thirst for answers. Anyone can ask a question about a job, decision, contract or project. It is also a fundamental right. But it is sad to think that questioning is opposed. This proves that in any case, the more questions are asked, the more the weaknesses can be overcome. To change society, we must first change our mindset.
