ISLAMABAD: A senior diplomat of the Indian High Commission in Pakistan has been sent a letter of protest to the Foreign Office over serious ceasefire violations by Indian forces on the Line of Control.

According to a Foreign Office spokesman, Indian forces opened unprovoked fire on the Broha sector of the LoC on September 24, injuring two civilians.

So far this year, India has committed 2,340 ceasefire violations. This year, 18 innocent civilians have been martyred and 187 seriously injured in Indian provocations. A Foreign Office spokesman has said that India's deliberate targeting of innocent civilians is reprehensible. Indian forces are constantly targeting civilians on the Line of Control and Working Boundary.

India's successive provocations are a threat to peace and security in the region and it cannot divert the world's attention from the situation in occupied Kashmir.
