Son of Moon part 4

Part 3

The next morning, labor began. After a few hours of so much pain, the son of the union of two gypsy fugitives in search of happiness would finally be born.

To everyone's surprise, things did not turn out as expected. The Calé wanted with all his strength a son, a version of him, who could teach him great things, and the woman, just wanted her family to grow, and forget that event of the night before.

The child was born, but with a peculiarity, his skin was not dark like that of his parents. That child was born as white as a piece of fine marble. His eyes were gray, his skin was white, as was his hair. A healthy albino child, born into the wrong family.

The Calé's smile disappeared immediately because he was not the son he expected. His anger increased uncontrollably and from his mouth could only come out:

"Damn that child, he can't be mine. That son is from a Payo. Who did you cheat on me with, woman of the devil!?"

Fear and confusion gripped the gypsy woman who desperately swore to her husband that she had never cheated on him.

"I swear to God, I have never cheated on you. This is our son, the fruit of our love," shouted the gypsy woman.

That white child is not mine. You have cheated on me with someone from the city, you filthy whore, but this is not the end. For you, I left my village, and look how you repay me. Shouted the Calé with fury.

And in an unexpected turn of events, the Calé took a knife and attacked his wife, cutting her throat, killing her in that hut that was his home. He took his unwanted son, and with a firm voice, said to him:

"I will not kill you, but I will take you to the forest so that I will leave you to your fate."

During the night the Calé went to the forest looking for a suitable place to leave his albino son, he immediately remembered that legend of the moon and the offerings and went to the top of the forest mountain, where he left his son on the tip and shouted:

"To you moon, I leave you this child product of sin, so that you can offer me the forgiveness of my tribe, which I abandoned for an unfaithful and shameless woman, I cannot give you more, so I leave you the child here, you get him a destiny".

The Calé got lost in the forest and left his son there, to the fate of destiny. Fortunately, there the moon was waiting for the son he had longed for so many years. She could not conceive a child with her beloved, and yet she achieved her goal. To have someone with her. After coming down that night, the moon knew she had nothing more to do. So she just stayed in the sky, taking care of her son, a son as white as she was.

Nothing was known about the Calé, but the legend says that after the moon got her son, her phases appeared.

It is said that on nights when the moon is full; it means that the child is happy, and if one night, the child cries, the moon will become waning to make a cradle for the child to be calmed.

Nights of a moon that could have been a mother, and from there was born the son of the moon.

This story is fully inspired by an ancient gypsy legend, but the idea was taken openly and adapted from the song of the Spanish band "Mecano", with their song "Son of the moon" who released this song and brought it to fame in 1987.
