Before It’s finally Gone
Just today alone I have heard this quote like 3 - 5 different time is from different people, "Life is a journey". There is no journey without a destination or and end point. If life is a journey like the quote states, that simply means we all have a final destination. In the journey, we will always have expectations... Have you successfully arrived at your final destination? Have your expectations been met? Gotten all the experience you've always wanted? Lived the kind of life you dreamed of? Visited the places beautiful place you've always wished for? Completed the projects you started?
It could be that you have attempted to meet up with all these expectations, but I know for sure that you are far away from getting all of these done.
Man needs is insatiable, no matter how much you have in your accounts, how many awards you have been given, the wealth you have acquired, and every other thing you have accomplished. There is something missing...... something you have not yet gotten. This journey of life seem to have no end, the destination is unknown. May be it will be revealed to us in another life but not this one.
Before this life is finally gone, we need to do the things that really matters. So many people have sidelined the things that matters the most in pursuit of those things that doesn't matter. Just because that's what they want, and that's why they are going after it. They try to give themselves this false hope that they will put things in order when they finally get to the final destination of this great journey.
Good moments with loved ones, enjoying the company of friends, enjoying family, finding peace of mind, keeping relationships. These are some of the things most people ignore just to achieve what's not important at the moment. These things ignored are very hard to get back when lost.
If we want to experience total peace within, we have to focus more on enjoying the moment, focusing on those things that really matters, taking out good time to enjoy this journey, taking the time to feel the warmth around it. Please don't get me all wrong, I am not saying we should abandon our dreams. It's so good to have bigger expectations in life. Discovering the right balance, nurturing our minds to pursue enormous things without giving up on those simple pleasures that makes life worth living.
However, let us learn to be happy now while we are still hoping to arrive at our destination. Life will make more sense to us and everyone else in our life.
