Commentary on the Qur'an: In Surah Luqma, after praising the believers who hope for the Hereafter, Allaah says about those who hope for the world,

"And there is a class of people who buy things out of ignorance, in order to lead the servant astray from the way of Allah." (Surah Luqman: 6)

According to this verse, Najr ibn Harith bought a female singer from abroad and engaged her in singing. If anyone wanted to listen to the Qur'an, he would order the singer to sing to him and Muhammad would tell you to recite the Qur'an and sacrifice your life for prayer, fasting and religion. It's just a pain. Rather, listen to music and enjoy life.-Maariful Quran 7/4

In view of this, Allah revealed the verse

Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood. When asked about the interpretation of ‘Lahwal Hadith’ of that verse, he said, ‘That is the song.’ Abdullah bin Abbas, Abdullah bin Umar. Said the same thing. A similar opinion has been narrated from Tabi'i Sayyid Ibn Zubayr. Famous Tabei Hasan Basri Rah. He said that the verse was revealed about music and musical instruments which made the servant heedless of the Qur'an. Tafsir Ibn Kathir 3/441

In another verse of the Qur'an, when Iblis-Satan pleaded to deceive the children of Adam, Allaah said to Iblis,

Thy footsteps of those whom thou canst hear with thy voice.-Surah Isra: 74

In the interpretation of this verse, Abdullah bin Abbas. He said that all the things that call to evil are the voice of Iblis. Famous Tabei Mujahid Rah. He said that the voice of Iblis here means music and musical instruments. Allama Ibn al-Qayyim rah. That said, it goes without saying that music is the best of the things that call for wickedness. That is why it has been called the voice of Iblis.-Igachatul Lahfan 1/199

According to the Sahabi and Tabi'is, the sum of many sins is music and musical instruments E.g .:

A) The source of hypocrisy b) The motive for adultery c) The veil on the brain d) The aversion to the Qur'an e) The thought of the Hereafter f) The attraction to sin and the c) Jihadi consciousness destroyer.-Igachatul Lahfan So much so that there is no need to look for a separate document to make it illegitimate. Nevertheless, it is proved by many hadiths of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: It is haraam to sing and its business and practice.

Do not buy and sell singers and do not teach them songs. And there is no welfare in the business of these. Know that its value is haraam.-Jame Tirmidhi Hadith: 1282; Ibn Majah Hadith: 216

At present a huge market for music and musical instruments has been created so that crores of rupees are being invested. It should be kept in mind that all its earnings are completely forbidden according to the Hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) further said, "Some people of my ummah will change the name of wine and drink it." And musical instruments and songs of women singers will continue to play on their heads. Allaah will destroy them on the earth.-Sunan Ibn Majah Hadith: 4020; Sahih Ibn Hibban Hadith: 656

Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood. He said that just as water produces weeds (on land), so song creates hypocrisy in the heart of man.-Igachatul Lahfan 1/193; Qurtubi 14/52 in Tafsir

The truth of the above statement is now as clear as daylight. The widespread spread of music has created such hypocrisy in the hearts of the people that the Islam of the Companions is considered obsolete in this age and music, intercourse between men and women etc. are considered halal. In Sahih Bukhari, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said,

There will be some people in my ummah who will make adultery, silk, alcohol and musical instruments lawful. - Sahih Bukhari Hadith: 5590 Narrated in Musnad Ahmad Hadith, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said,

Allah has sent me as a guidance and mercy for the believers and has instructed me to abolish musical instruments, crosses and ignorance.

The life of the Companions in the light of Hadith

With the exception of playing the tambourine in one or two cases, any musical instrument is haraam. The hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and the actual deeds of the Sahaabah prove it.

The famous Tabi'i Hazrat Nafe 'Rah. Narrated from Sahih Sanad, he said, once on the way to Abdullah bin Umar. Heard the sound of the flute. He immediately put his fingers in both ears. He went some distance and asked, 'O Nafe'! Do you still hear the sound? I said yes. Then when I said that the sound was no longer heard, he removed his finger from his ear and said, "Once the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, heard the sound of the flute on the way. -Musnad Ahmad Hadith: 4535; Sunan Abu Dawood Hadith: 4924 Famous Tabei Mujahid Rah. Such a hadith has also been narrated from.-Ibn Majah Hadith: 1901

Think about it, can we show the courage to speak in favor of the voice of Iblis which the Prophet (peace be upon him) and his Companions did not agree to listen to even for a moment?

The Companions did not tolerate the sound of anklets and bells. So the question of music and musical instruments is not absurd? It is narrated in Nasai and Sunan Abu Dawood that one day after Ayesha, a girl after playing the anklet was actually Ayesha. He said, "Beware, you will not enter my house until it is cut off." Then he said, "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said,

The angel of mercy does not enter the house where the bell is.-Sunan Abu Dawood Hadith: 4231; Sunan Nasai Hadith: 5238 Narrated in Sahih Muslim, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: The bell, the bell, the bell are the musical instruments of Satan.-Saheeh Muslim Ahadith: 2114 Understood. Commentary of the four Imams

Imam Abu Hanifa, Imam Malik, Imam Shafi'i and Imam Ahmad Ibn Hamble have given the same decision regarding songs and musical instruments. Everyone has called music as haraam.
