The woody evergreen plant bamboo is actually a member of the grass family. They are the largest members of the grass family. Bamboo trees usually grow together in clusters. One can see 10-70/80 bamboo trees together in a bunch. These bunches are called bamboo bushes.
Flowers in different types of bamboo bushes at different times; In some it is fee-year, in some it is 3 years, in some it is 50 years, in some it is 100 years. Melocanna baccifera, a type of radish bamboo, grows in the Nizoram state of India, the Chin of Burma, and in the highlands of Bangladesh, so that it can flower after 48 years. Meanwhile, Japanese bamboo (Phyllostachys bambusoids) can bloom after 130 years.
If the seeds or rhizomes of this tree are planted at the same time in the forests of America, Europe or Amazon, it will bloom at the same time. Environment, weather, nothing will be able to break the rules of flowering after these 46 years. Scientists are still trying to figure out why. However, it is believed that the mathematical rules of its flowering are determined inside each plant cell of this bamboo plant. This flower bears fruit, much larger than other bamboos, larger than olives. The fruit falls and spreads on the floor of the tree. The bamboo bush also dies, the one who spends a lot of energy grows crops and has no vitality. New bamboo seedlings are born from the many fruits that are still hidden among the millions of fruits in the bamboo grove. A new bamboo town was formed again.
Daniel Janzen, a professor of biology at the University of Pennsylvania, gave a TV interview on this mass flowering and some related issues. He believes that the tree has adopted such a strategy to protect its lineage. In the Indian states of Mizoram and Manipur, bamboo was flowered in 1958-59. Forty-six years later, in 2006-07, the effects were felt in India, Myanmar and Bangladesh's Bandarban, Rangamati and Khagrachari. The next flowering will be in the year 2054-55.
