When the British started compiling land records in the Indian subcontinent on the basis of the beautiful land system, he had a strong hatred of one class in his mind and he was the Maulvi of this land.

Before the advent of the British, the word was so revered in the society that great scholars and scholars were proud to add Maulvis to their names.

The hatred of this class of the British was rooted in the War of Independence of 1857, which was led by the Maulvis of the mosques.

The declaration of jihad from the Jama Masjid in Delhi prepared the Muslims of the subcontinent for this final battle.

But this was the struggle of the last fifty years that these Muslim scholars who taught religion sitting on the mats of mosques did.

The martyrdom of Tipu Sultan was an event that gave the British an opportunity to set foot in the subcontinent.

The news of Tipu Sultan's death was so heartwarming that it is still inscribed with Tipu's antiquities in the castle of Edinburgh that his death was celebrated all over England.

The British then turned their attention to closing down these Muslim madrassas, demolishing them and banning teaching there.

One of his grandsons, Shah Abdul Aziz Muhaddith Dehlavi, issued a famous fatwa on jihad against the British in 1803. In the War of Independence of 1857, there is a long list of Maulana Fazl Haq Khairabadi and other scholars who issued a fatwa on jihad under the leadership of Maulana Fazl Haq Khairabadi.

۔

The War of Independence of 1857 was led by the Ulema.

About Maulvi, the British forces and administration agreed that he was their worst enemy in northern India.

The fear of this Maulvi in the correspondence in the document inside the archives is astonishing.

Compared to them, there was another class whose loyalties had made their place in the heart of the British.

It was Chaudhry and Nawab, the landlords of the Punjab region, who provided the manpower to fight the Mujahideen in this Muslim war of independence.

Not only that, but the manner in which these big landlords shed the blood of Muslims in their areas and suppressed every voice raised against the British is a historical fact.

The ancestors of most of the members sitting in the assemblies of Pakistan led this bloodshed against the Muslims and even paid a few rupees to kill a Muslim jihadi.

۔

These “great descendants” of the Punjab soil, whose descendants are our political leaders today, were so loyal to the British that when army recruitment began in World War I, 14,000 out of 28,000 were recruited from Punjab in 1914.

In 1915, out of 93,000, 46,000 from the Punjab and by the end of 1916, 223,000 young men from all over India joined the army to fight for the British.

One lakh ten thousand of them were from Punjab.

On the other hand, in the War of Independence of 1857, thousands of scholars were hanged, tied up with cannons and blown up, black water was sent but their movement remained alive and well.

In 1864, Maulana Jafar Thanisari and Maulana Yahya were sentenced to death in the Anbala conspiracy case.

The world of passion for martyrdom is that both prostrate in thanksgiving.

British Deputy Commissioner Parsons comes the next day and says, "We will not give you your desired punishment, but you will have to spend your whole life in black water."

After that, the torch stays lit permanently.

The Patna Conspiracy of 1863, the Malwa Conspiracy of 1870, the Anbala Conspiracy of 1871, the Raj Mahal Conspiracy of 1870 and the revolts against numerous such conspiracies are the medals of the chests of the Maulvis of the subcontinent who were Borya Nasheen.

When the British started compiling revenue records, they divided the population in the subcontinent and especially in Punjab into two parts.

An honorable farmer and other non-farmers, the farmers included the noble Nawabs, Chaudhrys, Sardars, Vaderas and Khans who had acquired lands, estates and properties in return for their loyalty to the British.

While among the non-farmers, blacksmiths, carpenters, weavers, cobblers, etc., who earn their livelihood through hard labor.

They began to be called the least common denominator.

In Punjab, Kami Kamin is a common word on the face of every arrogant landlord.

A "list of shortcomings" was compiled in the records of the Revenue (Finance Department) which included blacksmiths, carpenters and cobblers, weavers as well as clerics of the Muslim-led religious class and then ridiculed shortcomings in the village.

I. Maulvi also faced the same ridicule in the section.

But in spite of this, this class held the torch of religion from the mat of the mosque.

He used to be the only educated person in thousands of villages, but the big landlords who were ignorant and illiterate endured humiliation, were put in shoes, were forced to work on harvesting, but it is wonderful that this man of Basfa reached the mosque at dawn.

Standing on the platform, he would call to prayer, call people to Allah, call to prayer in the ears of children, recite nikah, and on the death of this tyrant Chaudhry, he would recite the Qur'an for him and raise his hands in supplication.

Even in the cities, the Maulvi was restricted to the duty of the mosque.

There are only three occasions when it comes to society.

Adhan in the ear at the time of birth, marriage at the time of marriage, and funeral of the deceased and prayers for forgiveness.

In millions of small mosques across the country, this Imam is performing the most important duty of the ummah, ie calling to Allah, for less than a worker's salary, teaching the Qur'an to the children and leading the five daily prayers.

The prayers in the mosques were never delayed for even a second that the Maulvis were on strike in support of their demands.

He performed the duty entrusted to him by this society with more beauty and sincerity than any other section of the society.
