What inspired the new 'Spider-Man' costume.
If you got to see, at the end of "Spider-Man No Way Home," Peter Parker is swinging through the streets of New York and reveals that he has left Tony Stark's technology behind and created, by his own hand, a new costume. With the reveal of the NWH script, written by Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna, it is finally explained where Peter got his inspiration for his new costume.
As previously thought, the film's script confirms that the blue and red suit he wears at the end is "new to him, and reminiscent of suits he's seen before," namely those of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield from Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man, respectively.
Peter's new costume has some of the best features of each of its predecessors, but somehow also manages to perfect it with a more classic touch, which also reminds us of the one Peter used to wear in the Marvel comics.
Although the ending of No Way Home sets up an open ending for Peter and even top executives at Marvel and Sony have assured that Spider-Man has an assured future in the MCU, on more than one occasion Holland has cast doubt on his future as Spidey.
He said:
"I definitely had the feeling, as an actor, that this was the last time I could put on the suit, so a lot of that emotion came from the act of saying goodbye, which is one of the most important themes throughout this film".
