Menemen
Menemen is a Turkish dish made using eggs, peppers, tomatoes and, optionally, onions. It was made by the Cretan Turks who came to the Menemen district of Izmir with exchange for the first time and takes its name from the district.
They cut it into two parts with onions and without onions, but I think there is no way to eat without onions. It is onions and salt that give the dish its taste.
The recipe for Menemen
1 Dried Onion
1 Tomato
4, 5 Pieces Of Green Pepper
1 Tablespoon of Butter
1 Teaspoon of Salt
Half a Teaspoon of Black Pepper
2 Eggs
Preparation of the Menemen Recipe with Onions
First we take the butter in the pan and melt it.
We add the chopped onions to it.
We fry it until it turns pink.
Then we add the pointed peppers, which are finely chopped.
We cook the peppers for 5-6 minutes. We add the tomatoes.
We cook until the tomatoes are juiced.
We add salt and pepper, mix.
We add the egg whites, which we beat with a fork, to the mixture. We cook thoroughly.
We add the egg yolks.
