Never Enough
Date: August 17, 2021 Author: Sequoia He who is not contented on what he has, would not be contented with what he would like to have. -Unknown When was the last time that you feel contented on what you have? When was the last time that you stop asking God to give you these and those stuffs? When was the last time that you are just peacefully sitting down at the corner of your room without overthinking about the things that you lack? If I am going to ask you right now if you are satisfied with the life you have, can you answer me without any lies? ________________________ Contentment Satisfaction Gratification Comfortable Those four words only have one meaning. Sense of completeness and peace despite of lacking so many things. The feeling of not wanting more but genuinely appreciates the things in front of you. Isn't it amazing to feel that way? **From small to big** Have you ever noticed how things and your perception changes over time? When I was younger, I love to improvise my own mobile phone through the used of lumber. I cut it into a rectangle shape and draw the features of the Nokia 3310 within it, since it was the latest version of phone back then. I am already happy and contented to that version of phone. However, my satisfaction slipped away when I saw my playmate with her new mobile phone toy. Starting that day, I also desired to have that kind of toy and neglected my improvise mobile phone. As the time passes by, I started desiring and wanting the things that the other people have. My perspective widened and it made me crave for more and more. **Can't get enough** Of course, if you want something, you are willing to do all things with all your might just to achieve it and satisfy your longings. Nevertheless, we cannot also deny the reality that even after we reach that specific goal, instead of being contented we even yearn for more. We want to acquire more of it... More fame More money More power More attention More accomplishments It's like a virus that is sluggishly eating up the space of gratification in our hearts and completely wipe out everything inside of us. Haven't you realized that you no longer find joy to the things that you used to desire? **Neglecting the small things** Dreaming isn't bad. Actually, dreams are the reason why we keep on striving and surviving in this thing we called life no matter how messy it gets. As a human, aiming for big things really gives essence to our existence right? However, we shouldn't also fail to remember to cherish and value the things we have as of the moment. Always remember that the things we have right now were also the things we aim in the past. Many people are hoping to have the things and the life that you are living right now. Just imagine how fortunate you are to be in that place. ________________________ **Closing Thought** Human as we are, desiring to have more seems like it's already part of our nature. No matter how wealthy we become, we always want more and more. It is because we have no satisfaction. We keep on chasing the things that we thought that will fill the emptiness in our hearts. Nonetheless, no matter how hard we try to search for it, we can't find that feeling of being and having enough. Unless, you found God. He is the only one who can satisfy us. Stop looking for more and start treasuring the things and people in front of you before it's too late.

This is a well written article. I think that most of us are so busy working on having more of what we already have that we forget to be thankful and contented. It is always the future earnings that we look forward to, and once that comes there will be more to want. Hopefully we start to pay more attention and to be more contented before we lose what we already have in our desire to have more.
Ahuh. We can't get enough of the things. We always crave for more without realizing how blessed we are.
Satisfaction, it's very key, it's not wrong to want more, from my knowledge of economics, human wants are insatiable, but being able to appreciate what we have right now is good, most times we do not know what we have until we lose it.
Wanting more isn't bad. However, we should learn how to balance things and appreciate the things around us.
Satisfaction is not easy to get as people want more when they have more. The more we have the more satisfaction level increases. But it can only be achieved if a person has genuine gratification.
Exactly po ate. Couldn't agree more
What worse is that, when we got the things that we wanted, the things that satisfied us, we sometimes forget to say thank you to God. What important is we get what we wanted without even recognizing the one who made it possible for us to feel satisfaction... Yes thats true only God can meet and give the satisfaction that we are looking for.
This is super true. We are so overwhelmed by the things we receive that we often forgot to give thanks and credits to the one who provided those things to us.
Yes po I am guilty to this..
Oh please, don't be. Lahat naman tau guilty sa ganito.
It is human nature that when we achieve something that we have been long dreaming about, we still want more of it. It is vanity. And it corrupts our soul and our being and keeps us away from our true purpose.
True. I think its part of our nature already.
Though I agree with most of your points, I think that innovations can happen because humans can never be content with what they have. If all humans have those four qualities that you've mentioned, I guess we will be living in a paradise, though it might be a paradise that will never advance. Great article anyways!
You are right. It was human's discontentment that leads us into more advance world right now.
Happiness can be found in contentment. But this word is hard to achieve. Basta ako, I thanked God everyday before I close my eyes. What are the things that I'm thankful for? Simple, His Love, Protection and Guidance.
True mars. Wag lang talaga tayo mkalimut magapsalamat sa may kapal.
"Stop looking for more and start treasuring the things and people in front of you before it's too late". This one get my attention. As a new user here, I can relate this one. Because, I can reflect it in my own life in terms of financial. So, I explained to my first article that I wrote this day that I find this site before but, I never try to sign up. It's jut like, I'm looking for more before treasuring or embrace this site. Kung nag try sana ako noon, malayo na sana ang journey ko dito. :(
Welcomeee ditoooo. Anyways, past na yun, wag ka na manghinayang dun. Ang importante nag decide ka nga mag step forward ngayon. And that what matters most.
Guilty Before I kept on looking for more for I'm not contented with the little that I have result is that I neglect those small things along the way
Let's be grateful for the things we receive from the Lord, regardless of its size.
This is true... Want more strategy is common these days. But happiness is is contentment. ❤️
I agree with you.
To be happy we only need to have what is in the present. That should give peace of mind. But we happen to be human and for that we strive to try to acquire more well-being. If we strive for it then we are doing well. If we just ask God without effort that is what is very wrong. Fight for what you want and God will open the paths for you.
Yes. we should help our self first and God will eventuallu do the rest.
The best is to find God and everything will be given to us. We need to be contented with what we have. If we are grateful for the little things we have today, we would have more tomorrow.
Yeees. I am sure that the Lord will pour out more.
Those 4 words sometimes people hardly has it, especially that contentment and satisfaction. When we are genuinely contented we will can achieve satisfaction, but sometimes it's hard to have it especially when a person is somewhat ambitious.
Yees.
Na experience na kasi nila ang power, power of money and all. Kaya syempre mas mag hahangad pa yan ng mas malaki. To be on top more. Kahit ako ganyan din talaga ako minsan. Di nga maiwasan ee. Pero ung iba kasi ginagawa ng career tsk.
Oo ate. Okay lang naman mag want ng more, sana lang not to the point na mag aagrabyado na ng kapwa.
This really happens to most of us. We keep on wanting for more without realizing that we have is already an overflowing grace.
Exactly. We just need to open our eyes.
If we will learn to appreciate the simple things then we will be thankful everyday.
Exactly . be thankful.
I think it is innate in us to be wanting more, or else we will be stuck and may never grow. But it all depends on how we use that 'hunger for more' to better our lives without stepping on other people's feet and also making sure that we don't take what matters most for granted.
I agree with you po. Wanting more isn't bad. It's up to us on how arew e going to meet those wants.
Exactly, Now I al realising that who don’t have a dreams are just a dumb. And yeah try to be happy with what you, God will give you more than your expectations.
Amen! Let's be grateful for the things we have. May it be small or big.
Exactly. God bless you. ☺️
Well living longer in this world and my family is Healthy is enough for me. I also appreciate things even big or small I consider them all as a blessings. ☺️
That's good for your mars 🤗
Well said.👏 we always want more and more but we tend to forget to value the things that we have now. We should be grateful for all of it. It is indeed right that only God can satisfy us.☝ I like this article.😊
Thank you for the appreciation. Amen! Only God can satisfy us.
If we learn to be content and accept things as they are, then we will find peace. Make the most of what you have and be grateful always.
Amen! That's the key. Be grateful alwaysm
Well said! It's in human nature to demand more and more he'll never feel Comfortable until he build his connection with God and fight with own soul to change our nature and it's hard to beat our desires but it's possible with help of God
Amen! Nothing is impossible to our God.
Tumpak marrsss! Being grateful for every little thing gives us gratification. And yes, we can't deny the fact that we have this mindset of wanting more but then again we have to appreciate the things we have in the present.
