You might be wondering who or what "Dean" means, you might not really know if you're not in the university setting yet but for our elder brothers and sisters can tell. The dean is the head of the faculty. Something else comes to my mind!😂 What's a faculty???... Well, a faculty is a group of departments with related baseline courses, for example, we have the faculty of technology and that comprises of departments that work with the technological aspect of life. We also have the HOD's cup but I'll later edit this post to put the link on my story on the cup because I'm not done writing it yet. I am in the faculty of technology and our Dean's Cup started about two weeks ago and each departments have called on their students from 100l to 500l for training so that they'd be able to play as a team, I was also called on to play but I decided stay on the touch line and take note of what happens so that I'd be able to give a nice report on the Cup. Here are my sponsors below, do well to check them out
The training sessions of my department started about a month ago, so did other departments in the faculty. We have eight (8) teams in the faculty of technology:
✓Industrial engineering
✓Electrical and electronics engineering
✓Mechanical engineering
✓Agricultural and environmental engineering
✓Food technology
✓Civil engineering
✓Petroleum engineering
✓Wood products engineering
These eight teams were subdivided into two groups with four teams each, the draws was done by the planning committee of the Dean's Cup, they had one representative of each department at the draws to avoid cheating and the result came out as👇
GROUP A. GROUP B
Civil AEE
Elect elect. F.TECH
IPE. MECH
PET. WPE
It's now the match day four and I've not been able to keep up on updates on the match days one to three but the update reaching me is that from the group B, AEE is going up against WPE today to earn their stay in the dean's cup and proceed in the knockout stage while F.tech pulled out of the competition on the ground that they aren't been treated well by the officials.
It's the Day 4, and IPE's qualification is based on permutation while AEE's qualification lies in their hands because the only way they can qualify is if they beat strong side WPE, while WPE just needs a draw to go to the next stage of the competition... Below is the match day 4 fixtures and the group standings at the moment 👇
THE STANDINGS:
I will also keep you updated on the knockout stage of the competition as we proceed...
