Winning the mind game. We are looking here at a psychic link between the thoughts and your actions. One which quite a few have gained mastery of and have been able to manoeuvre to get results. You see,the mind is the brainbox behind every action. It control your response, reaction and believes. Things unphatomable becomes realisable because you have fought the mind battle and won. The greatest battle a man can fight is from within. Your ability to conquer the negations, doubts, don'ts, can'ts. The mind must be brought under control to be fully utilised. Ben Carson went from being the dumbest in his class to one of the greatest neurosurgeons in the world because he was able to restructure his mindset. A number of books also came handy as he seemed to inspire young minds to attaining great heights. He saw he had what it took, build his mindset around that and resulted in a productive outcome. Chritiano Ronaldo, one of the greatest footballer of all time rose from being just a small kid who played for sporting Lisbon to becoming a legend. I remembered an interview on a Red carpet show when he and two other United teammates were asked who the greatest footballer in the world was. They mentioned the likes of Maradona and Zidane. When he was asked,he said me and they all laughed. He won the battle already in his mind and his actions and determination ,hardwork from that point onward were mere formalities. Lionel Messi, the six time Ballon d'or winner, diagnosed with growth hormone deficiency at the age of 11. One which was said to result in stunted growth. Rejected by the likes of Arsenal. He got into the Barcelona academy, got treated and built his mindset to beating the odds and making a name for himself in football. These days you re not a football lover if you are not a messi lover. Nicholas james vujicic an American evanlegist born without arms and legs due to a disorder syndrome. A motivational speaker who has built a strong mindset of achieving great thing despite his disabilities. He was known to found an NGO organisation 'life without limbs' to help the young out there see that disability isn’t inabilty. You can’t think negatively and expect a positive outcome. You can’t think casually and expect an extraordinary outcome. You can't be mentally stagnant and expect to move forward. Build a conscious mindset, one that would last a lifetime. Create the future, picture it,see yourself feature in it. Winning the mind game is the most important in setting goals, visions and futuristic plans. Mindset is everything. Stay woke. Education is key to success;not the key to success A lot of misconceptions have been made over the years about the importance of education in the life of individual in pursuit of success. Education as it is well known is a very important factor to attaining success in life. Education is not a guarantee to success but a stepping stone towards attaining success. There have been records of great men who didn’t complete their Education but still made the most out of their lives John D. Rockefeller(known as the richest American of all time)borrowed money to start his business venture and made an empire of it. Hewas born into a poor family. He spent two years in college and dropped out. He never had a degree . He waxed strong in Christianity and was committed to giving. He gave a whopping $540 million dollars towards various religious, educational sector and more. Bill Gates a second year student of law dropped out of Harvard to venture fully into Microsoft. A business Enterprise which has today made waves across the world and made him one of the richest in the world Thomas Edison popularly known for the invention of light bulbs and motion picture camera didn’t attend college. He believed strongly in self learning and was taught basically by his mother. At some point,he ventured into selling candies and newspapers. Now he forever remains in history. Charles dickon known to create some of the world’s best fictional characters was also a school drop out due to the financial status of his family. He ended up being a great influence toward providing shelter for homeless women. This has showed that a lost of futuristic individuals who have been able to discover their path have excelled exceptionally well without education. Education is and will remain a vital platform to attaining success but not success in itself. It is a process of learning, one which includes self discovery. True success is in self discovery. Educational in itself is being able to build knowledge on your prowess. Quite a number of people study courses they know nothing about or can’t even explain. What good can come out of that? Discover your prowess, build on it. There is a gap between education and achievements. Be the bridge that connects them. Thanks for reading

Life of the lowly There is a gap to every two opposite sides, the good and the bad,the rich and the poor, highranked and lowly and much more. For centuries the balance of life has been highly debate. The rich can’t survive without the poor, and the poor without the rich. A cycle which till today remains quite complicated. Different people have had their different feel of life in their own different ways. It wasn’t as easy for some as it was for others. We all don’t get a fair share in life, but it offer a fair share of opportunity to rewrite our story. My childhood wasn’t something I could boast of but it was an experience that would live on forever. My Dad lost His Job few months after my birth, this weren’t all rosy after then. The struggle began, they trying to keep up with two kids as a happened to be the second child. We lived from hand to mouth as we keep on struggling. Nothing seemed forthcoming. A lot of turned down application, rejection and empty promises. I grew up to the harsh side of life, adapted and had to flow with the rhythm of it. Lived in a large compound popularly called( face me I face you). We struggled to have 2 meals a day. Schooling was the number one priority of my parents as they made sure we got basic education at the very least. The school was quite far from the house as we would walk for more than 30 minutes. I started this 'great' walk when I got into the primary school. My elder sis would hold my hand as we both walk our way down to school. It was only a few years before I started fetching water,we would have to walk down the street to get water, wash my uniform and all. There was no room for laziness. Mum layer opened a beer parlour which brought in some money. Grew up having no allergies, hard to fall sick, and really strong. Played football then with so much strength and aggression. Grew quite fond of tree climbing, walking and running on four legs, sprints and alot more. Was typically from the ghetto. Played football with all my trousers and tore them each and every single one each time. There got to a point where I had just on trouser and two tops. Quite bad at maintaining things, I found it had to keep my clothes. I would sometimes go to church with a torn trouser and wrap a sweater around waist just to cover it up. Got a number of scares from entering bushes, playing football, climbing trees, running and all. I was quite known for trouble making as I would beat up my mates if annoyed. I was quick to angry,my hands were always quick to respond, no chill, no second thoughts, male or female. I once slapped a girl and my five finger showed on her cheek like a stamp and her mother came ranting and yelling and threatening arrest me. Alot more went in but I’ll stop it here If there was something good that I learn through the struggles,it was the fact that life isn't all rosy. We are in a warfare, and in every passing moment,we are fighting a battle to leave behind the life of the lowly and build a more stable life. The experience was a building blocking toward a setting goals and priority, the aim being'my descendants won't suffer what I suffered'. My parents achieved that. The struggles is always a form of motivation, give you something to fight for. Fight through the years of hardships, starvation, frustration, pain, shame because this is only a process and only the strong and relentless can scale through. Experience is knowledge. Knowledge is power.

CBN cup experience pt 2 The knockout stage brought in a whole new rhythm to the game as several teams were bend on staying put in the competition. The next match brought a greater challenge as we were set to face Nursing and Mls. The match was evenly matched in the first half as both teams displayed wonderful style of football. The second half came to a frustrating start as the opposing team started on a high press. We were force to our half of the pitch as they kept a high line. They were ruthless but were not able to convert any of their changes. We were able to hold them to penalties. Quite confident of our goalie,we were optimistic we could make it through. Public health converted their first penalty and so did we. The second shootout was almost caught by the goalie but the force was quite effective. We also converted the second and it was all levelled. The game was brought to life as our goalkeeper saved the third penalty , and we converted the third. The fourth penalty was once again saved by the goalie and it was left to us to seal it. The decisive penalty was played with such precision as the opposing goalkeeper could only watch as it found its way to the back of the goal post. There we were in the quarter finals. We weren’'t the favourite to remain at this stage of the competition but gracefully,we progress further. The quarter final was totally one sided as we outclassed our opponents(BAMS). We were completely dominant. The decisive goal came from our defensive midfielder, macqueen; about 20 minutes into the second half as he fired a long ranged shot that found its way into the back of the net. We were relentless as we went in search of a second goal ,one which were close to securing as our main striker fell in the penalty area but the referee was quick to wave it off.The game ended 1-0. We were totally not favorites to reach the finals as we were set to face a neighbouring team Wood product Engineering. We previously lost to them in the final of the Tech cup few months back. We put out a poor performance as we conceded 4 goals in the first half of the game. The team spirit was diminished as we made a lot of flaws in the game. The second half saw both team put in effect to score goals. We were able to create a few chances but converted none. The half saw the opposing team add to the demolition as they put in another goal in the second half . The game ended 5-0. The loss brought up a lot of argument as quite a number of teammates left the team at the very spot. This was a telling point in the competition beacuse we still had a third place match to play and I couldn’t risk jeopardising the whole effort we put in. I resolved the issues which made some players return to the squad. The third place was our only hope of going home with something. We either go hard or go home. It wasn’t where we wished to find ourselves but it was all we had to fight for. We prepared well for the match as we hoped for a flawless victory against Electrical Engineering. We were quite disadvantaged as we had a few injured players. The date was set and both teams set to the pitch with the hope of winning the match. Both teams played great football and for the whole of 90 minutes, neither team found the breakthrough. We were up to extra time which saw both teams continued in goalless draw. The breakthrough strike came mid way into the second half extra time as a through ball was made to our advancing left back, Daniel; who hit the ball first time and took a big deflection into the net. The celebration was glorious,as our fans were totally joyous and the others stunned. The final whistle was blown much to our relief. We were bronze medalist. This happens to be one of the most beautiful moments in my life. Thanks for reading

CBN cup experience pt 1 A lot of activities accompanied gaining admission into the university of Ibadan. One of which happened to be the commencement of the CBN cup which was played mainly by fresher’s across different faculties. The preparation ahead of the competition gave a lot of department the hope of doing well. No one was to be belittled,no one was to be overrated. Payment of registration fee began which happen to be ₦7000 and and the end of it all,a total of 24 teams made payments. The competition was set to begin the next week.7 department from the faculty of technology participated including us. The draws were out and we divided into six groups, 4 teams in each group. Two top departments from the group stages matches qualified automatically, and four best losers were picked among the different groups to make a total of 16 teams. Each departmental head was present for the group stage fixture as papers were opened to determine which group each department falls in. The competition began on a high note as we were set to play PBDS in our first match. Their was a high team spirit during the match. We outclassed our opponents and the match ended with 3 goals to nil in favour of my department Match day 2 was against Mathematics and SStatistic. It was quite ironic as the my depaetmental mates didn’tmake it to the pitch on time.we had to make do with the players available. We conceded two quick goals in the first half of the game and managed to pull on back in the second half.We were second on the log and had to win the third match to secure an automatic qualification from the group. We were set to face Animal science in our final match of the group. Alot of people said that they will be a walkover based on their previous performances in the competition. We relaxed, sure of qualification,we went into the match lackadaisically. To our shock, within the first 10 minutes, they were a goal up already. Then it dawn on us that they that win to qualify as best losers. We reorganised and were able to secure an equaliser before the half time break. The second half was up with a roaring starts from both team. Chances were created on both sides but neither of the two team converted Thier chances. A late minute penalty was award to us as I fell in the penalty area, and the referee quickly pointed to the spot. We converted the penalty and we were a goal is. The match ended 2-1 as we were able to secure qualification from the group.

Value of time The popular saying “**time and tides waits for no one**” illustrates the value of time. Time is a measure of life. It moves constantly with every passing moment. Time is irretrievable, unstoppable, cannot be manipulated or adjusted. Time is no respecter of person, race, tribe or rank. Time is true, precious and valuable. A university student knows the value of a year if he/she fails an exam. A student writing an exam online knows the values of exceeding the stop time by a second A man who has emerged a failure knows the value of a lifetime. A doctor trying to revive a seemingly dead person knows the value of a millisecond. Time cannot be taken back once it’s lost. People who are able to make the most of their time end up becoming great success. At every passing moment, how well you utilize time determines the outcome of your life . Never take anything with levity. With all sense of consciousness, take opportunities, make the most of it. **Time Management**: This represents the effective use of time. How conscious you are to every passing moment. Making the most of every free time and utilising it to the maximum. It is the strategies plan outlines to control the quantity of time accorded to daily activities. With proper time management comes productivity. Factor affecting poor time management Indiscipline Inability to turndown people. Lack of motivation Excessive workload Laziness Fear of failure Procrastination It is known over **85%** of today’s youth move with time and tides which has lead to improper time management.A lot of people haven’t been able to have a strong hold on to a lifestyle with which they can manage their time. **Important of proper time management** **Sense of fulfillment**:You ability tbreak down your time between your activities enables you to achieve more. More is accomplished once proper management sets in. **Reduced stress**: With improper time planning, you are subjected to doing things as they comes or when you see fit. This eliminates the need for overworking of oneself. **Self discipline**: This happens to be one of the most challenging asceptas you have to succumb to laid down rules. Everything outside your time scheme is irrelevant. It also helps you to say 'NO' when necessary. **Better decision making**: Decision are made a lot easier. Your restriction to your time scheme givesyou lesser options to choose from. You have better control of your life. **Balance**: it helps create a bridge between work and rest. It prevents any form of excess workload which can lead to fatigue or tired on the long run. At every point in time,be time cautious. Time ticks faster that we can see. Whatever you have to do,do quick.

Preparing for university life This happens to be something quite a number of us have witnessed ourselves. Some have it it happens to the the best time of one’s life. The joy of getting that freedom, that space ,the privacy you’ve always wanted. The beauty of meeting new people, joining social activities, making decisions for yourself. Decided when to wake, cook, read and all. But let’s not leave aside the hustle and bustle of university life. The stress of completing all the process needed in registration. Getting suitable accommodation on campus, coping with heavy academic workload, management of fund and the likes. Parents have a price to pay in seeing that their children make the most of their time in the university. With parental guidance comes wisdom. Never resort to violence in correction of a child. Never try to cage or restrict the movement of your child cause when they are exposed to a whole new world that awaits them, they are so much taken away by it that they forget the main purpose for being there. In every way possible, listen to them, advice them, correct them in the right way so nothing out there flatters them. Create a relationship that makes your child confide in you no matter what. Teach them in the right,so they will not depart from you.Mother always told me, 'remember the son of who you are. Never forget where you come from'. That awareness is something enough to keep a child in child in check no matter the distance. The university life offers a world new world of possibilities, opportunities, stability, and independence. It creates an environment where aside your core purpose which is education, other aspects of life can be fully exploited. The university life offers a blank cheque,it can make you rule or ruin you. It can make you or mare you. One which will make a total success or a total failure of you. You meet people from different background, upbringing, with different kind of traits and you get to relate with this people in one way or the other. My experience before entering the university was quite consoling. After taking jamb three and failing to meet up with the cut off mark. Went through quite a number of criticism from neighbours and some of my mates. It wasn’tbetter at home because I was always having issues with my parents especially my dad. I felt I wasn’t accorded the level of rspect I deserved. Wasn’t allowed to learn a trade, confined to my father’sbusiness. There I was every single day as early as 7am,all set for work. At the end of the month ,I was paid all in the name of its my father’sbusiness. It wava really disgusting pre- university life for me. I would work myself out and still get reprimanded in one way or the other. The only consolation I got for myself was the fact there it will all be over soon. The announcement for the resumption school was pain relieving. I knew I really needed to be far away to gain my respect back. I felt belittled. My little sister wasn’t helping with matters. The only thing I found joy in was in football. The university life offered the break I needed. I did everything from that point on like it was my last. My days were numbered and at the right time I left.

The beauty of child birth Child birth happens to be a very important factor in the existence of people. One which holds with it the birth and replication of life. Not just life, believe, traditions, culture. The beauty of having an offspring, becoming a father,a mother. That joy isn’t one money can buy. The bond is unexplainable, the love unquenchable, and the feeling unimaginable. It open up a whole new sense of purpose, commitment, indebtedness, and much more. The period before child birth happens to be the most crucial time in the long run. How you are able to take care of yourself determines the condition of the child. Heard of quite a number of people who has still birth, miscarriages and all due to inappropriate care of the unborn child. Some factors are important to the well-being of foetus Excess stress: Enough rest is needed in the process of chidbirth. Excess burden confuses the hormones. It is known that standing too long, bending over, involvement in strenuous activities can lead to miscarriages and injury during pregnancy. It is also knownwn to reduce the size of the child. It also causes abnormalities. Overweight: As much as rest is needed, it can excessively lead to overweight and affect the size of the foetus. Frequent exercise is needed to stay in good condition like walking a few times and all. Nutrition: This happens to be one of the most dominant factor to determining the well-being of your foetis. It is known to cause low birth weight and developmental delay. Causes still birth in mother’s and in some cases can lead to the death of the mother and/or the foetus. Smoke: Absorbing smoke are having a smoke increaseythe risk of health problems for the young foetus You must have probably heard of quite a number of people who had issues having children, not being able to produce someone of their own likeness. Some take in years later and some never do. The irony of life is that its opportunities are not always available to everyone. Sad feeling right, ridden by thoughts, drowned in sorrow. They wallow in pain for a way out, hanging on to ever slim changes of hope. And the rain falls and the sun shines but nothing is forthcoming. The bringing forth of a child is a gift,an uncompromising one. A gift which every couple must be grateful for in times of scarcity and in plenty. The love of a mother to a child is much like the agape love of God to His children. A child comes first before anything else,no matter how trivial the matter seems. The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ made reproduction a gift,a sense of hope, clarity,a believe for a better generation, a future of mankind. A gift which was well appreciated by mankind, one which has preserved the linnage, legacies, future of families around the world. Appreciate being a child to someone,a sister,a brother,a father,a mother because in the midst of the so to say baised nature of life,we have found strength, love, hope, peace in the children that we have made, met, and have become. Stay thankful for the victory of child birth. Thanks for reading

Distraction- A side attraction? A little closure,a little relentment, a little delay,a little communication,a little pressure and you’re totally off course. You come across people who have made it and tell you they could have achieved a lot more if only the understood better. Those who are not successful, but tell you if they had the information they have now, their lives would have had a better outcome. What really is the decisive factor to staying on course? Why did it take so long for people to make achievements? In one way or the other ,humans are prone to distraction socially, mentally, physically even academically. Most of these distractions happen to be things that in the long run aren’tin any way cogent. We all succumb to distraction, some might love partying, some are probably addicted to sports ,some others distracted by relationships, addiction to phones and a lot more. Distraction is negative attraction. You identify a distraction because it pulls you away from the made cause of your actions. When that feeling, social engagement, communication begins to get contradict your plans on moving forward, then it’s a distraction, when you have to choose between things that are not in line with your goals. Being distracted is of one’s self-will. You only succumb to distraction in the area of your life where you are weak.I’ll share with you a little sinero. An hunter was known to be with his dog whenever they left for the farm. The dog was a faithful pet and would always go out with its owner in the morning and come back late in the evening. On this faithful day, after they set out to work as usual in the morning and the day’s work was all done .On getting home, his wife notice the dog was panting profusely, meanwhile her husband had barely a drop of sweat on his face. Then she asked her husband, why is the dog breathing this heavily and you barely broke a sweat? Did it perform any strenuous activity at the farm? He replied and said “It did not do anything strentous neither was he worked up in the farm,it only got distracted. On our way back from the farm,it saw some fellow friends, went off to play with them for a while and had to sprint back to catch up with me. He saw a bush rat, went off to chase it and had to catch up with me;Saw a bone, took some time to bite off it and still had to meet up with me. It is in its nature to get distracted by this side attraction. But every single time it went off course,it had to work itself out to catch up. Distraction provides an alternative route away from your main path. The more distracted you get,the more time and effort it takes to get back on track. In every way possible, stay on course,in line, focused. Keep away from every form of side attraction if they are not in line with your goals. The moment you begin to notice any form of setback, cut it off. No matter how hard it looks,it all comes down to self realisation. A lot of people are too scared to admit to this distraction because they see it as part of enjoyment. In every way possible,be true to yourself. Discover your distraction, subdue your distraction, and get back on course Thanks for reading

Fear of the unknown One might wonder, what does tomorrow hold for me? How secured or certain is the future for me? What happens if things doesn’t go as planned? The world at large is advancing at an increasingly fast rate with the constantly changing and growing technology. There has been series of widespread diseases and viruses all across the world. The Educational system doesn’t give certainty of a favorable job opportunity after years of study. What really does the world out there holds for me? Fear of failure: There is a fear of not being able to meet your expectations,of things not going as planned. You not having a good great or not coming out with a good grade. Not getting that job you’ve always wanted. Being a failure to your family, letting them down. Fear of being below your mates and hiding from them. Not being able to stand out In a crowd ,not having a voice. Fear grows at the slightest thought of impossibility. Fear of death: You begin to think, what happens to all of my efforts,my dreams if death comes knocking. All the toils, the sleepless nights, the sacrifices and in the twinkling of an eye,it’s all over. I had an experience just recently, lost a finalist in History and a 200l student of Education in less than a week. All they ever wanted to be is all gone with them. All memories fades after a few years. Fear of time: As it is known, time waits for no man. There is a fear of running out of time, opportunity and luck. You consider your age and you haven’t got time on your side. Nothing is looking favorable. Your chances of getting that job is limited considering your age. Demoralised, mentally unstable, slim chance of success, things aren't looking good for you and your ask yourself ;WHAT WENT WRONG? WHAT AM I NOT DOING RIGHT? A wise man once said'When you fear the future, focus on your present and when you fear for the present, focus your vision on the future' First of all,you have to acknowledge the fact that every man has his own fear but the differentiating factor is who has control over the other. Are you in control of your fear or the other way round? Fear is F-False E-Evidence A-Appearing R-Real Fear in inevitable. I once feared I was growing into a man without purpose. At some point in your life, you will come across fear but your ability to exercise control over such situation determines its outcome. Fear is built on past failures. With success comes failure, paradoxical right, but true;try and fail, then try again. Until you are able to outcome the fear of the the past, make the most of the present, the future is an uncertainty. You are permitted to fail, not to end up a failure. Overcome that fear, keep trying, keep pushing, never let your guard down,do not be dissuaded. The only way to predict your future is for you to create it. Nothing starts until you start. Embrace your fear, gain mastery over it.Focus on the present with the future in mind. Thanks for reading
