Hello Readers! This is my last movie that I will recommend you for this day and as a part od LGBTQ+ community, I would like to share my favorite queer novel with movie adaptation in Netflix.
Initial release: 1 May 2020
Genre: Romantic-Comedy
Director: Alice Wu
Screenplay: Alice Wu
Cinematography: Greta Zozula
The Half of It, is a movie about a teenage queerness. The whole movie revolves around an academically bright yet shy Chinese-American teen Ellie Chu who agrees to help a hopeless romantic schoolmate, Paul, in wooing his crush Aster, in exchange that he will pay for every letter and other activities that they'll do.
But, it is not about romance, the movie also tells us the importance of being understood, being acceptable, maturity, and finding your other half. When you watch the first third of the movie, you'll start to have questions, and the rest of the last third part of movie will be your answers. And I'm telling you, you have to bring a tissue for some revelation that will happen.
Also, we will learn a lot from this movie. But the most important lesson you'll get here is you'll be able to learn the importance of having someone who will truly accepts the real you. And just like other movies, even though you are not part of LGBTQ+, you can relate in this movie.
If you want a movie that will poke you with so much life realizations, give this movie a try. I'm sure that you won't regret watching this awesome movie.
