4. Successes, progress, setbacks and recommendations 🏆
1️⃣ Ian Blas - Argentina
The seminar and meetup scheduled for April 9th and 10th respectively were successfully executed. Ian thanked Satoshi's Angels for their support and sponsorship.
They are continuing with the merchant audit, as there are still merchants that do not exist.
They are making sure that the stores being approached keep their private keys properly backed up and stored and the QR code of the store printed.
The onboarding actions continue and to date, they have managed to incorporate 36 stores in total. They offer a physical and digital guide with standard presentations to facilitate the onboarding process.
The support line via WhatsApp proved its usefulness by assisting several people with various technical questions and particularly a case of a person trying to use Cash Fusion and they were able to resolve his doubts and guide him satisfactorily through the process.
They are currently running several updates to the website.
Ian thanked the Bitcoin.com team and Satoshi's Angels for helping to resolve the peso conversion problem in an expeditious manner. The new dollar/peso quote allows all bitcoin.com services to display the correct quote, the one used by the market.
Suggestions to improve the Bitcoin.com map:
Add filters.
Assign colors to categories.
Being able to filter merchants by categories.
Be able to rate with stars.
2️⃣ Mariana y Majamalu - Argentina
They shared some relevant facts during their participation in what they called the Bitcoin Cash experience (Meetup) in a bar, where they helped others to download the Wallet and explained how to use it.
They made several suggestions, among them to incorporate in the guide for merchants in a relevant way that the owner of the merchant is the one who has control of the funds received and in no case, the employees will be able to dispose of these without his authorization (Security) and also can see the flow of transactions in real-time.
They also emphasized the need to highlight to the owners of the incorporated businesses that it is possible to convert their BCH to any other Fiat or cryptocurrencies, so that they do not feel locked into the ecosystem. Make known the exchange options, such as Binance P2P from where they can convert Argentine Pesos to USDT and subsequently these to Bitcoin Cash and vice versa.
They highlighted the importance of providing accompaniment and support to the merchants incorporated to Bitcoin Cash. They congratulated the BCH Argentina team for correcting the exchange rate on the Bitcoin.com platforms, as this facilitates Bitcoin Cash transactions by being able to indicate the amount to be paid in Argentine Pesos within the Bitcoin.com applications.
They also discussed and explained the problem of micro-donations on how these are accumulating fees and how to consolidate these transactions.
Additionally, they offered their recommendations to new adoption leaders on how to handle basic cryptocurrency terms.
During their intervention they shared with the Venezuelan colleagues an interesting anecdotal fact, as they had the opportunity to taste the famous Tequeños (typical Venezuelan snack) in Argentina and paid with Bitcoin Cash.
3️⃣ Guille Herbst - Argentina
During his intervention, he asked the following question: Is there a scheduled payments feature from the wallet? As he believes it would be a great functionality that should be incorporated to facilitate subscription models.
4️⃣ Kevin Krumm - Argentina
He discussed how the low transaction costs of the platforms mentioned by Linzerd make these systems increase transactions and usability.
5️⃣ Gustavo - Bogotá
He showed interest in solutions similar to Airbnb that accept Bitcoin Cash as a form of payment. In his opinion, these systems create a powerful network effect as not only the person offering the property for rent starts to recommend the payment method, but also the customers who start recommending other users. The participants of the call shared with Gustavo the options currently available.
5️⃣ Patricia Torres - Chile
During her intervention, she asked: are the businesses that accept Bitcoin Cash being identified? As it would be interesting to keep the brand recognition and service campaign homogeneous. She was informed that there is graphic material to identify the businesses that accept BCH and that it will be shared with him for his use.
6️⃣ Luis Rodriguez - Venezuela
He sent kudos to the Bitcoin Cash Argentina team for the organization and adoption work. He agreed that the Bitcoin.com map needs to be improved as it does not show much data that is relevant for those looking for merchants that accept Bitcoin Cash.
Many businesses use their social media profiles as a website. He suggested incorporating a functionality similar to that of Google Maps where it is possible to see photographs of the businesses and even incorporate some reviews.
He shared with the participants his experience in overcoming shyness to approach new businesses and described a simple strategy that promises to be effective, which is to approach delivery services to convince them to accept BCH as a form of payment, as well as contacting advertisers on the MercadoLibre platform.
He recognizes the need to share knowledge about the use of tools such as Bitcoin Cash with all those who do not yet know about it, many people need that knowledge.
He shared the change undergoing on his channel, renamed now to Luis Rodríguez BCH, from where he will promote and create more content related to BCH.
He plans to onboard the market where he regularly makes his purchases on Bitcoin Cash.
7️⃣ Luis Daniel López - Venezuela
He added that it is possible to reuse the addresses in the case of businesses that wish to print the QRs to receive payments and somehow implement the receipt of payments without having much technology and added that in this case the owner of the establishment always has control of the coins received at those addresses.
8️⃣ Linzerd - Venezuela
Responded to Guille Herbst about the mentioned functionality, which does not exist yet, but the possibility to make payment reminders. Possibly it is something that will be born with the contracts programmed in Smartbch. He reflected expectations about Smartbch.
He discussed use cases for platforms such as Tip.ch for live videos and receiving donations. Pay button Tipbitcoin.cash for streamer.
He also discussed how alternatives appear when the state fails.
Following this call, the raffle was held and the winner was: Ian Blas (BCH Argentina). The video of the raffle was shared and the funds were immediately sent to the winner 🥳
