  • Japan’s top financial regulator, the Financial Services Agency (FSA), announced last week that it has registered Coinbase as a crypto exchange service provider based on the revised Fund Settlement Act. According to the FSA, Coinbase is approved to trade BCH, ETH, BTC, XLM and LTC in Japan.

  • Universal Fire & Casualty Insurance Company (UFCIC), a Michigan-based multi-line admitted property and casualty insurance firm, has announced that it will now accept cryptocurrency for premium payments. In a statement, UFCIC said that it will now accept a variety of cryptocurrencies – including BCH, ETH, BTC, and LTC – for premium payments for direct online license and permit bonds and other surety bond products. They will continue expanding the menu of cryptocurrency options available for premium payment and customer convenience.

  • The cryptocurrency exchange Gate.io has recently added a new feature known as “flash swap”. Users can exchange different digital assets including BCH with a single click and get an automatic settlement instantly and conveniently. There will be no fees charged for the entire process, and the threshold of this feature is as low as $10.

  • BitCash, Python’s fastest Bitcoin Cash library with readable source code, has released version 0.6.4. Updates of this release include: removed Bitcore API; replaced Travis CI with GitHub actions; allows more customization of API endpoint.

  • Satoshi’s Angels is now an official GoCrypto Marketing Partner. GoCrypto is a payment solution by Eligma that enables merchants to accept cryptocurrencies. Currently available in 64 countries, GoCrypto is enabling shoppers to pay with 7 different cryptocurrencies: BCH, ETH, BTC, LTC, XTZ, VIB and GoC.There have been 20 million crypto wallets created in the Bitcoin.com wallet since launching in June 2017.

  • Blockchain domain name provider Unstoppable Domains announced native support for Blockchain.com, the world's leading crypto wallet and platform for retail customers, institutions, and crypto projects. Blockchain.com's 32 million verified users across 200 countries can now send 100+ cryptocurrencies with a simple, human-readable username instead of full-length wallet addresses.

  • Under the influence of China's policy to crack down on cryptocurrency mining, both BTC and BCH have seen a significant drop in hashrate. According to bitinfocharts, BTC's hashrate has fallen from a previous high of 171 EH/s to 83 EH/s, a drop of more than 51%; BCH's hashrate has fallen from a previous high of 4.7 EH/s to 1.7 EH/s, a drop of more than 63%.

  • Prompt.Cash, a payment gateway, has launched a new feature: Monetize any URL using BCH with its URL Shortener, including monetizing YouTube videos, articles and other content, even if that content is hosted on 3rd party sites where users can’t add BCH and Prompt.Cash directly.
