  • Trade Republic, a Berlin-based brokerage, is expanding into the cryptocurrency market with the launch of trading in BCH, BTC, ETH, and LTC. Founded in 2015, Trade Republic allows users to buy and sell stocks and ETFs through a mobile app.

  • The testnet of smartBCH, a sidechain for Bitcoin Cash, is now live. Developers and DApp builders can experiment with the testnet and develop for a high-performance, EVM-compatible Bitcoin Cash sidechain.

  • Suterusu, a second-layer private payment infrastructure for smart contract platforms, becomes the first project to be deployed on the smartBCH EVM. Suter Shield is a private payment network built on original ZK-ConSNARK technology that has an almost constant proof size and much more efficient proof generation and verification time compared to similar solutions. It has already been launched on Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain for a few months and received significant support from the communities, accumulating close to 250 million USD transaction volume and 4500 active users.

  • The PMv3 proposal has been revised and is now a Cash Improvement Proposal: CHIP-2021-01-PMv3. PMv3 is a version 3 transaction proposal for Bitcoin Cash, and by addressing two issues with the transaction format, Bitcoin Cash contracts can support cross-contract interfaces, allowing contracts to interact with each other.

  • Jason Dreyzehner, a former BitPay employee and now a BCH developer, will do a Reddit AMA on r/btc on May 2, 2020 starting at 2pm US Eastern (18:00 UTC). He will take questions about prediction markets, PMv3, CashTokens, and Bitcoin Cash development. Users can leave questions and interact with him under his Reddit account bitjson.

  • Full node client Bitcoin Unlimited has released v1.9.2 with new features and improvements, which include long unconfirmed transaction chains and the capability of including multiple OP_RETURNs in a single transaction.

  • Bitcoin Cash virtual meetups sponsored by Satoshi's Angels will be live on May 1 (Asia), May 8 (LATAM) and May 15 (US/Canada), making it easier for people to join during the lockdown due to Covid 19. People can choose to participate in the appropriate meetup based on their time zone.

  • The latest Bitcoin Cash Network Discussion was live streamed on Saturday May 1st from 05:00UTC. The topic was Smart Bitcoin Cash: An EVM compatible sidechain for Bitcoin Cash. Users can watch the webinar on Youtube, and Satoshi's Angels will also provide a one-page recap.

  • Corbin Fraser, Head of Financial Services at Bitcoin.com, joined Shitcoin TV this week to discuss what's happening in the Bitcoin Cash ecosystem. He covered a lot, from the latest updates on BCH, SmartBCH and even then went on to chat about government regulation, governance tokens, crypto security and non-pegged stable coins. The full version of the interview is available for users to watch on Youtube.

  • Bitcoincash.org is under new management and is currently looking for translators and proof-readers.
