“I am not supposed to write an article tonight. I feel so exhausted after a long day of work. I can feel my brain won’t process as much compared to days that I am very well rested. But! This needs to be raised immediately.”
I just read a very informative article by an amazing writer @Eirolfeam2 about the common misinterpretation of Bitcoin. If you want to read the detailed explanation, it can be found in this link: “A Misconception That “Bitcoin and Everything Related to it is a Scam””. I suggest for you to check this article out!
I was into the article the moment I read the title. Yes! That is one of the biggest misconception of people! Actually, the biggest false claim there is. I was so hooked up. I continued scrolling until this screenshot of a News Outlet called TV Patrol under ABS-CBN News on Facebook caught my eye.
Bitcoin scam? Yes, you are reading that right. I was so confused on how to understand this caption that they put on this post. I am really putting my mind into it. Are they trying to say that "Bitcoin is a scam"? Are they using “Bitcoin” as a noun and using “scam” to describe it? Because solely basing on how they captioned the post, that’s how I understood it - and so will majority of people.
“But really though? That is the freaking caption? What in the mother effin world?!”
You won't be able to fully understand the whole news article if you will not actually read it. As a general observation, people does not read articles as they already based the whole idea of it in the title. Lets be real, that's us sometimes.
Let me put it this way, there is an estimated 7.8 billion people in the world and let us say 80% of them has a social media account so that's around 6.24 billion people. Then this 6.24 billion people saw the same article and lets estimate that at least 30% of them has this "lazy mentality" of reading articles and they just based the whole idea on the title, and just for arguments sake, a title that is miscaptioned. So that's roughly 1.87 billion of people who are misinformed because of the miscaptioning. Can you believe that? That's a lot of people!
I don't know about you but these kind of mistakes is something that's purposely done especially if you belong in the media. I mean, you are in the business of delivering important information and news to a lot of people all over the world and you are committing all of these amateur mistakes? Huh, you can do better than that!
I AM CALLING YOU OUT ABS-CBN NEWS!
I know the exact reason why news outlets such as ABS-CBN does this misquoting, miscaptioning, and specially false claims in the titles of their articles; its to gain more attractions, to get more sympathy, and to destroy someone's reputation.
If you think the "Bitcoin scam" caption that they did in 2018 is the only controversial "mistake" they have done, then you are absolutely wrong.
One of the favorite victims of these "mistakes" of ABS-CBN news is our beloved President of the Philippines: Rodrigo Roa Duterte. I don't know if you remembered the Pilipinas Debate that happened on 2016 where Duterte left a statement that was totally misquoted by ABS-CBN News.
I mean can you see the difference? By the way, CNN Philippines quoted Duterte correctly and comparing it on how ABS-CBN News had quoted him, for Christ sake, that is a totally different statement. Can you see the manipulation? Can you see the inhumanity?
But wait, there's more!
These "mistakes" of ABS-CBN News did not stop there.
The bilateral meeting scandal. As you should know, CNN Philippines written the real full details of the postponement of the said meeting. It was a mutual agreement between the two leaders, Duterte and Obama. Then 7 hours after, an article was released by ABS-CBN News falsely claiming that Obama cancelled the said meeting because of an insult from Duterte which was was never proven. That is so funny!
There are a lot more of these miscaptioning, misquoting, and false accusation from ABS-CBN News. They are not as credible as you may think! As far as possible, when it comes to Worlds and Local News, never patronize this News Outlet; or better yet, make your own research.
Author's note:
This article is not to hate the said News Outlet but to share awareness to the people who believed in these bad "mistakes" that they are doing.
