Parent Community in the education system- then &now

Right from the time the education started we have seen the different faces of parents while admitting a child to the institution. Earlier we had uneducated parents and today we have over educated parents. Both these are difficult to handle.

When we start looking from a generation when education started, there was no pen and paper. In the stone age period most inscriptions the writings were carved using hard tools. Later on ie., during the monarchy time, when ink came into practice, the feather tips were considered more comfortable for writing in a piece of paper. These feathers were dipped into the ink bottle before writing and then penned into the paper.

The above mentioned was just an information about the means of communication in the absence of pen and paper even in the prehistoric period.

Now let me come to the topic. The role played by a parent community in admitting a child to the institution is a saga right from the time education started. Around 50 to 60 years back, most parents were less educated or uneducated . Few parents took the initiative to admit the child while few are least bothered of the child's education.

Not because they were disinterested in education. It was a joint family system where education was of less interest in few families. If the child passed or failed was out of question. So those with interest passed out successfully.

Then came the parent's of 70's who was a bit educated. Most parents wished their children be educated. But here also less importance was given to female education. The parents were ambitious who wished the child get a good education and secure a good job.

So a good part of these are the outcome of today's parents. Most parents are well settled and is expecting the same from the children.

But when we talk of todays parents they are over ambitious. They go to the extent of fighting with the education system as they are aware of the pros and cons. Here you can find most influential family with spoilt kids. Here the parents force the chdren according to their wish. Some succeed while some a total failure.

In future, where will the education system lead to is still a quesrion mark. Because more than 50% of the children lead a carefree life .
