You Can't Just Do The Opposite.

0 5

Here is something else that I learned from that morning run.

There are times when our lizard brains take over, And we want to compete, Content or conquer.

These are all lizard-brain strategies.

Sometimes our monkey brains take over, And we want to compare, Criticize, Or complain.

These are common lizard and monkey brain tactics when we are feeling bad.

We simply can't go from competing, Contending, And conquering to not competing, Not contending, And not conquering.

The reason we can't simply shift to the opposite of where we've been, Is because we are still in the same brain.

With our lizard brains asking the question, “Can I eat it?” Or “Can it eat me?”

We are simply shifting from the eating or conquering thinking, To getting eaten thinking or vice versa.

When the monkey brain says we are feeling bad, We want to tell ourselves to feel better.

Either way, We are still in the monkey-brain mode of processing our world in terms of feeling good versus feeling bad.

We need a whole new mindset.

We need a new coach calling the shots.

We need to have the divine brain take over.

We need the relative brightness of the sun (divine brain) to illuminate our thinking and understanding.

We'll address in our time-management strategy how to have the divine brain dominate our thinking and be more divinative.
