Be all...

Today I will talk about a topic that made me think a lot.

A neighboring family that I know because in my childhood one of the daughters, whose name is Vanessa, was one of my best friends. She has a mother with elephantiasis, a disease transmitted by a parasite through a mosquito that swells a limb of the body. The Garcia family is poor, and they can't afford the treatment and the years go by, five years become ten, and ten years become fifteen. The time comes when the lady's foot swells so much that she can no longer walk.

They decide to ask for help to the government, to the president Juan Orlando Hernandez, that if you google: "narco president" you get the most handsome politician your eyes will ever see (sarcasm) that leaves more than in evidence that there is definitely not a good government, that Honduras is invaded by corruption, and the salaries in most cases are so low that they barely give enough to eat something. That work is scarce, and because it is scarce they take advantage of people. Nor do they invest what is necessary in education and we are reaching the top and dragging a corrupt Honduras for many years because of this and previous presidents who take office to "launder money".

Let's go back to my friend's mom, she can no longer walk so my former best friend Vanessa decides to publish her on social networks asking for help along with other people in my neighborhood, because there is also another woman with the same disease, the community prepares a poster for them and both are published in search of help, and miraculously if she gave an answer, but it is not the president who responds, but the nearest hospital, who sends to bring the two women to attend her for "free" which surprised me and made me happy when I saw the publication on Facebook, but you know who was not happy? The people, because, having a clown president, a large part of the population of Honduras hates the president, and I don't blame them, but, I wouldn't care if he had really helped my friend's mom. Do you know what the population did to help? They attacked her. They started insulting both families on social media, calling them "sellouts" and even saying that it was a government set-up, that it was all a lie. They attacked them, but nobody, absolutely nobody said: I will take care of covering the expenses of both families. I know it was not their obligation, but they also had no right to talk like that about people they did not even know.

At that moment I felt furious, I didn't get into a fight with people who have no life of their own, and I decided to think about Vanessa, I felt tremendous compassion for all that she has had to live through and now that?

And as if that wasn't bad enough, one of Vanessa's sisters was pregnant, I was following her on social media and I knew about her pregnancy since she posted it on Facebook. The one who got her pregnant not only took charge, but also started a home with her. He looked very committed to the girl, and wow, we shouldn't believe everything we look at on social networks either, but the boy's mom is known to us too, and she told my mom that he was excited, sure, the pregnancy had been unexpected, but he boy had a job and he planned to look after the welfare of his wife and his future child.

All good, I saw that Vanessa's sister, Jessenia, had her 23rd birthday celebrated by the groom's family, excellent!

About two weeks later they tell me that Jessenia and her mother have COVID, I remind you, Jessenia is six months pregnant and her mother has elephantiasis. They both got serious, they were in the hospital.

The Friday before last it seemed that the girl was recovering, although it was very possible that her baby would not be saved, but maybe she would. Sunday night I found out that she passed away.

That filled me with sadness, because all this happened in a row, from the time the mother was admitted to the hospital, then the insults, then the illness, I felt like crying, I felt that life had been terribly unfair to them.

I talked to Vanessa and tried to give her encouragement, I know that her problems were not going to be solved by telling her "Cheer up, everything is going to be all right! I couldn't assure her of that, but I did show her my encouragement and let her know that she is there.

I think it's one of those situations where I've felt compassion the most, I'm aware that that's not enough to help. There is so much I would like to be, I feel compassion for my country, I feel sorry for the 3 to 5 year old children selling candy or begging for food, I feel compassion for so many stray animals that I recently started helping a foundation, but I have only been able to give them little, as I am trying to take care of my cats, paying vet visits to have them spayed and neutered.

There is so much I would like to do and little I have accomplished, I can only feel compassion, and sadness for what I cannot accomplish.

Today's topic made me remember everything that happens in the world, and it hurts me, and that I could spend hours writing about each of the cases I know of and I feel so helpless knowing that I can do nothing.

If you also want to reflect on it I leave you the simple rules:

1. Write about compassion

2. Write 100% original content

3. Write at least 600 words

4. Tag @JonicaBradley

5. Reflect and enjoy the expressive power of words.

Perhaps my help is insignificant, but if we add others, if we collaborate, it no longer seems to be. Like the foundation that rescues animals in my country, although I donate little, I am a little consoled that they have a good group that donates constantly, and with the help that is collected among so many, the support is already more noticeable, and I hope in my community more people join the cause, so at least I dedicate myself to share information on my social networks to encourage others to make a small donation.

Currently I prayed to God for my friend's mother, they have already suffered so much! Please don't take her away too. I can only imagine if that were to happen to me...I don't think I could resist.

1.     Escribe sobre la compasión

2.     Escribe contenido 100% original

3.     Escribe al menos 600 palabras

4.     Etiqueta a @JonicaBradley

There is only so much we can do but whatever it is, we should help or give to the best of our capacity. What little we give will add up to be part of a bigger picture. It's really sad how unfortunate events seem to happen to one person or family. If we think of all the things that are happening around us and let it affect us, we might not make it. So control what you can control and do what you can, just like what you are doing with animals and humans alike.

It's saddening that some people have to go through like that of your friend Vanessa and her family is going through. I do hope their mother will be well real soon. You have a good heart, may the heavens bless you too.

I hope the next news I hear from them is that the mother has recovered from Covid and the other disease.
