Yesterday has come and gone with all its anxieties, yet, we have remained to testify the very goodness of the lord especially as we are still very much among the living. What a great propect that is for sure and that is the same case with you, then i'd ask if you actually took the initiative in saying thank you lord for being alive this morning? Well, i believe without being told, you indeed did that.
Today, we shall be taking a look into the life of some animals, their distinctive features and the other interesting things that are to be known about these great beasts. It surely will be a series discussion as regards the very few ones i'd like to bring to our attention here.
Therefore, i hereby implore you all to join me as we take a dig deep into these exciting moments about the world's biggest and largest of the cat family, the Tiger.
THE TIGER.
This is undoubtedly, the undisputed heavy weight champion of the cat family. Born to the felign family, the tiger is a solitary predator of the wild life where it is found and an average tiger reaches a sexual and an adult maturity age between the ages 2, 4years and above which is also at a time when it is expected by natural phenomeno to fight over a territory it will call its own as just like its relative cousins the lions that have a pride with a male as the head of the pride, the tiger on this occassion has no head nor any pride it calls a home hence being solitary in nature. It tries as much as it can to avoid an confrontation with humans.
The tiger is also a well known and respected big cat due to its astonishing hunting abilities and style and such ability has drawn the name of being the fiercest predator to ever grace our planet earth due to its no nonesense behaviour and courage in taking down preys that are well more than twice their sizes. Its hunting successes are usually placed on a limited and a paultry 2/10 chances. What this means is that even though the tiger's abilities can be seen from its make ups, yet its chances of getting down a prey are usually placed on a limited chances of being successful in just only two out of every ten attempted hunts it makes. What this suggests is that the most powerful does not always have their ways at all times.
The tiger can grow up to 350kg/pounds-450kg/pounds in weight and has an average life span of up to 13 - 15years in the wild before its death which are sometimes caused by their constant engaements in battles with other tigers in the wild.
Being a solitary predator, the tiger who although doesn't run for too long due to its weight relys mainly on its stalking intelligence in bringing down its prey especially at night when it is mostly active and is very much able able to hunt effectively as against the day time when the chances of a successful hunt is usually limited.
The tiger for all we know has a near perfect colour camouflage that allows it to perfectly mix up within the grass while it waits patiently in ambush in order to allow its prey to get ever closer before any eeal attack is launched on it and with the fastest ever recorded movement of an attack, it brings down its prey just in a single swipe and with a pounce of a landed blows of over a hundred (100) kg like the blows of two world heavy boxers combined together.
The tiger is the only recorded of the big cats with the strongest bite force that is measured in over 700psi (per sqaure inch), that's how much deep its teeths or jaws can penetrate the body of its prey when hunting it down and you may be glad to know that only the bears have been known to have had more of that bite force than a tiger.
Countries where tigers are found.
Africa undoubtedly have been home to most of these massive beasts but when it comes to the case of the tiger, there are not found anywhere within the shores of the African savannah but are duly found across most Asian countries of Nepal, India, sumatran, and from western Europe of Russia.
Worthy of note about this lovely felign is the fact that no two tigers have the same stripes on their skin and as such, that unique feature it only possesses makes it quite different and distinct from the others of the big cat family.
Not only are those of their stripes features as their only differentiating factor, there are also the fact that across the different countries where they are found, the tigers have different sizes also as part of their distinct features.
Below is a list of the above mentioned countries where these beasts are found and their different sizes according to their geographical locations but for the purpose of our time, i'd like to limit the discussion to only two countries viz: Russia and India.
RUSSIA
This is the only country in the whole of Europe where tigers are found and the the tigers that are found in this country are often believed to be the biggest and largest tigers alive and with an average weight of 450pounds - 550pounds, the Russian Amur or Siberian tiger is the biggest and of course, the strongest tigers of all its kind.
The amur/siberian tiger have been known to spend almost all its entire life on snow land.
So far, there are no much expected human death rate in this country as humans and tigers rarely meet for whatever purpose possible in this country thanks to urbanization, mordernization, development and advancement so to say.
Therefore, the expected human death per year = 5-10 per year.
INDIA
Here in this country, the tigers that are found here are called the Bengal tigers and they are undeniably, the second largest of the tiger family after the Russian Siberian or amur tigers. They are second with a relative weight of about 350 - 450 pounds and have been known to be the fiercest of the entire tiger's family.
It usually have an encounter most times with humans as their habitats are sometimes usually shared by humans which is a reason why the attacks by the tigers in these areas are usually placed on a high.
The Bengal tigers are responsible for over two thousand human deaths (2000) a year and the reason for this is because of the constant meetings it usually encounters with humans on a daily basis.
Therefore, the expected human death rate per year = over 2000 deaths per year.
The nepal and the sumatran tigers as much as a hosts of other unmentioned ones are also within the ranking of 3rd, 4th and many more in the set order of importance according to the tiger's different species which is also according to their weights and body sizes.
The tiger as an endangered specie.
Do you know that despite all the fine, beautiful and outstanding qualities of these great and successful feligns, yet, the tiger is but an endangered specie?
Research has shown that the activities of man have continued to ensure their total decline in the wild and this is so because of the fact that mankind's activities and their quest for more financial gains have found out that the tiger's skin is a good raw leather materials for their company's productions of foot wears and other products that are made out of the skin of these wonderful predatory specie hence their contant decline and a possible extinction being faced.
The tigers skin became a household name in the wears buisness due to its relative beauty and the toughness in its hide and skin that has made it a constant hunted animal by poachers whose activities for sure are a criminal activities without any real governmental backings all over the world.
My humble advice for all the government of the world where these endangered species are found.
There are no doubts about the continued efforts on the part of the several governments of the world where tigers are found in seeing to the protection of these endangered species of which I must recommend the Russian government for taking the most active steps in ensuring that such no longer becomes of the tigers anymore and the activities of the poachers are well on their security check at all times, i would also advice that such laws should be enacted in full and that some long term prison sentences be imposed on any found guilty of doing that so that such a sorry state of criminality by these poachers are well subdued to their bearest minimal.
I hereby implore all governments of the world to also take active responsibilites and ensure this effect is cushioned and atleast, save the tigers from extinction.
Now the question is, am i in, are you in for this? Remember, we must take responsibility as now is the time to achieve that for tomorrow might be too late good morning and thanks for reading my article.
