The sky looks blue due to the scattering of light. When light falls on a particle, that particle scatters the light in different directions, which is called scattering of light. The shorter the wavelength of light, the greater the scattering of that light. The scattering of light is disproportionate to the quadratic of its wavelength. The wavelength of blue light is the shortest, so the scattering of this light in the sky is high and the sky looks blue.
Cloud molecules are quite large and so they scatter light other than blue. As a result, the color of the clouds is much whiter.
This is why the sky looks red at sunrise and sunset. At this time the sun is near the horizon. So the sun's rays penetrate the thick atmosphere to come to earth. Then the blue light is scattered and goes in different directions but as the wavelength of red light is longer it is less scattered and comes to earth. So then the sky looks red.
I see hope everytime i look at the blue sky.
