"Do you think there's pain there, Ate?" -Naomi Vera
That was a line from a famous Wattpad story by @4reuminct. The story is part of the University Series that bloomed even more this year.
Avenues of the Diamond is the title.of the story, it's not yet finished but there are already chapters that really got me struck.
Naomi is the sister of the main lead from the story. Naomi Vera is a illegitimate child of Senator Vera and is living under his roof. She is in her college years like her sister, Samantha. Samantha Vera is a well known model and a social person. She has lots of friends and everyone's talk, unlike Naomi in their University.
Samantha, love her sister so much despite the fact that they're just related by the Vega blood, their father. She knew Naomi was deprived of many things by her mom itself. Because Naomi wasn't treated well at their mansion, locking herself and sulking into darkness. That is why Samantha did everything to make her feel that she have her. That Naomi isn't alone in the world, that she have a sister to hold on and cry to.
But just like some other stories, the life of other characters doesn't end well. Naomi once asked her sister about the stars. She was looking up at the night sky, full of stars.
And tell her sister this lines:
Days after their talk about stars, Samantha had different schedules. But she tried calling Naomi and her sister told her that she is with her classmate and will have a sleep over. But tomorrow after the call, Naomi, was found dead in her room.
She was overdosed of pills she took. She was clouded by darkness that she can't see any light anymore.
That was the heartbreaking part, the downfall of everything.
Naomi Vera gave so many lesson and emotions to us readers. She had a great sister but sometimes, we are just to drown in the darkness that even there are people giving us light, we still can't see them.
"Do you think there's pain there, Ate?" -Naomi Vera
Naomi Vera, is now one of the stars, beside the moon, shining brightly.
The lesson I want us to have is that, depression isn't a joke. We may see people smiling and laughing but within them, there's pain. Pain that they are carrying for God knows how long.
As much as possible gave this people someone to lean on, don't give up on them despite how drown they are. Keep pulling them up and shining for them, give them the light so they will shine too.
There's no pain in the stars abovs, the star itself is in pain. You are a star, you should shine brightly no matter how dark the world will be for you. There will always be brighter sides to look at.
Keep shining, keep giving light to those people around you.
Be the star that has no pain. Be a star of your own.
