Festivals or Fiesta is the most exciting, the most awaited and the most colorful events that take place every year. There is so much to look forward in that events. We have a lot of Fiesta in Philippines, it was celebrated in Barrios or Town with the street dancing as the main events. There are different reason of why this events was celebrated, in some places they celebrate it to Honor the Patron Saints of the Catholic, to memorialize the local culture and history, promoting community's products or the celebrate the good harvest in their town. In that events you can see parades, concert, exhibits, trade fairs, numerous games and contest, cultural or religious rituals, pageants, procession and theatrical plays.

Actually tommorow January 19 is Fiesta to our town Bansud Oriental Mindoro. We celebrate "Basudani Festival of Bansud" it was celebrated every year on 19th of January. It is the tradition of our town to honour our Patron Sto.Niño by having this Traditional Town Fiesta. We have our famous "Street Dancing" similar to Sinulog with their colorful costumes, with the beautiful designs, and it is also our "thanksgiving" because of the bountiful harvest. It was participated by different level of student, elementary to high school. This is one of the highlight in this events.

This is actually a 3 day fiesta started from January 17 to 19, and 19 is the main events. Before, they will start to decorate our town even if it's still in December. Like putting a colorful "Banderitas" in every barangay, designing our "Plaza de Bansud" by putting some decorations. I can say that our Town has the most colorful and exciting fiesta. Our Mayor really put an effort to make the "Bansudeños" happy and satisfied.

Aside from putting those Banderitas as early in December, they also start allowing those vendors that comes in different place to put their stalls with their Paninda in their designated place. They had this one place where they can put it and we call it "Palanyag." I remember when I was in high school, in our break time or when our teacher is absent we will plan to go there to look for what to buy, to stroll, just to look around or buy foods. It is very amazing and very exciting our town was visited by different people from different town.

Every year, the band marching with their instruments was also present. They march around the town playing their instrument with lively songs in their list. This one is also the reason why we are excited to celebrate this. Just hearing those make my blood boil im excitement. I mean, foods will flood on that special day so, just hearing the sound of their band will really really jump in excitement.

Have you experience this in your town too? They will put that set of sound system in every of our town or to just until to where the "Street Dancing" will take place. They will put this in the morning of the the day of Fiesta even if the Street Dancing will happen in the afternoon. We experience that before, they put those sound system closer to our store. The sound is so big off course it will be loud. And you know the oldies, they can't take noisy surroundings, but even if my Mom was in fury she can't do anything about it so she just stay inside and then will just go outside if there's a lot of costumers.

Every fiesta has a Pageants so we also had it. Beauty Pageants here was a 3 days events, and the final results will take place on the main events which is January 19. Our Mayor will invites an artist from ABS-CBN that will perform in fiesta. Just last 2020, just recently our guest was Vice Ganda and December Avenue and some other that I forgot the name, that two was the main features. Just look at that, "Di Mahulugang Karayom" sa dami ng tao not just from our town but also from other town, I'm sure may taga Calapan din which is the capital of Oriental Mindoro. This one is another successful events. We also have Fireworks display after the performance of the other artist and after our Mayor give his speech.

Even if we won't have this kind of happenings today, it's okay, it's understandable. We can still enjoy this together with our family. But what more important is we are all healthy, our town if covid free, no cases at all and we are safe. We can still have this maybe next year or just after this virus was all gone in earth.
