More than 70 trials of different treatments for coronavirus are simultaneously taking place in the USA. Specialists are investigating both therapeutic methods and vaccines, said President Donald Trump.

There are a ton of great clinical trials going on in the US for efficacy against COVID-19, one of the strangest ones involve super-high doses of famotidine (Pepcid) given IV, at about 9 times the normal dose. Apparently, the mechanism of action could theoretically inhibit reverse transcriptionase, which prevents the "transcription" part of the viral reproduction cycle. Who knows if it will have any effect...evidence from China show that the poorest people with COVID did better than some of the wealthier subsets of the population, and in investigating why, the common denominator was that they overwhelmingly used cheap Pepcid as opposed to the wealthier people who employ name brand drugs like Prevacid to treat their heartburn. But the push it on. Something will work, it's just matter of discovery, now!
