Apollo

Earthlings are spending their days just like any other day. In Russia, as in all other days, people are working. Just then, a cosmic object entered the earth invisible to astronomers. Speed 19 kilometers per second. Its speed is more than 50 times the speed of sound. 30 times brighter than the sun to dazzle everyone's eyes. Its capacity is 500 kilotons of TNT. More than 6,200 buildings were damaged, factory roofs shattered, many windows shattered, and 1,613 people were injured. The scene took place in a place called Chelyabinsk in Russia. And a 500-kilogram piece of the rest of the cosmic object fell into a lake at the end of the day. And the name is "Binsk", "Chaliabinsk".
(This is the second major event since Tanguskar. And the cosmic object was originally a fireball, the object falling into the lake is called a meteorite, but we'll talk about that later. Below is a YouTube video and a link to the Nature Journal.)
There is only one reason to say this, the origin of this cosmic object is an Apollo asteroid. Scientists consider it part of the 2011 EO. However, many also consider it to be a 2 km diameter (86039) 1999 NC asteroid.
However, the Apollo Group is named after the Apollo asteroid discovered in 1932 (1862). The largest Earth crusher, however, means the asteroid interfering with Earth's orbit (1866) Sisyphus, a proud member of this group. It is also the largest of the other Apollo. Its diameter is about 6.5 kilometers. It is worth noting that the asteroid or comet behind the extinction of the dinosaurs was at least 10 kilometers in diameter. (Only 1.5 km from Sisyphus!) So, the fort is conquered by pushing. Another notable asteroid in this group is Bennu (101955). It is likely to collide with Earth in the future. However, since it is also a part of PHA, we will discuss it in the next episode of PHA.
However, although not complete, it is partially captured that the Apollo Group originated in the mainland. Presumably, they have become more isolated due to Jupiter's gravitational force. (Big brother doesn't always protect us, he rules in some cases) Most of these more isolated asteroids are members of the Apollo group today. Remember the Alinda group in the last episode? Jupiter has a 3: 1 resonance with the planet. When these asteroids come in contact with a terrestrial planet, they have the opportunity to join the Apollo group, ignoring the oppression of Jupiter.
Aten
Discovered in 1976 (2062), the Aten asteroid was named after this group. I defined them in the last episode. However, many of them hit the orbits of Mercury and Venus again These include Mercury-Crossers and Mars-Crossers or Mars Crossing Asteroids (MAC), respectively.
Many of these groups travel closer to the world. On 15 February 2013 (367943), an asteroid named Duende left the Earth at a distance of 26,599 km. Which enters the orbit of our Geo Stationary Satellite. However, its diameter was 40 meters. It was originally a member of the Apollo group, but after passing so close to the Earth, it was enrolled by the Earth's gravity that enlisted it in the Aten Group.
However, the most important and well-known asteroid in this group (notorious for us) is the Apophis asteroid discovered in 2004 (99942). However, we will discuss in the next PHA episode
Atira
This group is also called Apoheles. All the asteroids in this group are in Earth orbit, not cross-eating. So they are also called Inner / Interior Earth Objects or Asterois (IEA). (163693) This group is named after the asteroid Atira. This is the first IEA. All but one of the asteroids in this group are larger than 300 meters. There are very few members in this group, I can't write the exact name because I don't have a scientific keyboard.
It is important to note that NEA and PHA are part of the Near Earth Object (NEO) and Potentially Hazardous Object (PHO). When I say object, I mean asteroids, comets or any other cosmic object that meets the conditions for their membership.
