The Doctor's Journey

Many are called and few are chosen but the work is plenty

To pick up the white coat is a call to service, saving humanity.

Years of tempering, pages eaten in place of food. The brain is never full.

Recruits into the white army are only successful when they're locked down by the oath.

Everyday is the same, depending on what come may. Look, tell and treat, then repeat.

Armed with pills, books, stethoscope and nurses. They do their best and hope it's rest.

Stuck in a office or free to roam, the work is the same. Save as many as so, tho, sad, can't be all.

Adorned with white and maybe a glass, hardly one without special eyes, they guard the door against the black fiend.

Healing is their motto, it works for most sometimes not. Even then, the likeness with Jesus is quite thin.

Sometimes no risk, most times yes. They may be incapacitated emotionally, physically or legally. Even then they're are doctors that swore the oath.

It is what he is trained for, great power bestowed on him, therein great responsibility. So help them God, but then they pray for and work on you.
