We're still facing a pandemic and battling with COVID-19, and we can still see students having difficulty in adjusting to distance learning. From the very start of the school year, most students are really complaining so much and seem to give up without thinking much about what they can get in completing the modules. As a student, I can't deny the fact that it 's hard to understand and answer the modules without explanation by the teachers even there's someone in the family that can help, so how much more for those who have no one to help them?. It's indeed hard to adjust for what we used to, but if we focus on the brighter side, we will appreciate more the benefits that this kind of learning brings.
Instead of complaining, why don't we focus on the real purpose of completing modules? Yes, its hard to complete the activities within short period of time but it's like a training for us. We can use time management to pass it on time. We can ask for someone's help for topics that we don't understand. At some point, this kind of learning is such a challenge for us students. Complaints can't help us even just a little bit, they will just make us more lazy to answer. If we can't really pass all activities, then at least we can say that we've done our very best and we learned something.
In times like these, we need to continue learning, and answering modules is one of the instruments. While we are answering, there's something that will eventually fill our minds and strengthen our knowledge. There's no such thing to regret, because it gives us more benefits.
If you think that answering modules is just a hurdle for you, then you just really take it for granted and submit the modules just for "compliance sake". Good students take it as an opportunity to learn, that's why they keep on progressing. This kind of learning is really good and we'll actually see this when the normal classes will start again. If there will be so much activities to pass on a short period of time, they will be much easier for us to accomplish them.
As a student, i prefer face-to-face classes than distance learning, because I can access more information and richer understanding on the topics and lessons through the help of the teachers. I can also concentrate more on learning in school because there's less distraction than at home. However, we're not yet over with COVID-19 that's why we're using distance learning. It's really hard to adjust to this type of learning but there are also good benefits that can be an advantage for students.
In distance learning, we can study in a place in which we feel most comfortable, and we are able to discover and build up skills in associating with technology. It also offers variety of learning styles and techniques, the delivery methods are different and somehow interesting. It also offers more quality time with our family and we can also help in doing household chores. Our parents don't also need to provide travel expenses. However, the workload in distance learning is far intense than face-to-face classes, so it requires more self-direction and discipline in order to get the activities completed on time. After all these upsides, there are also some disadvantages in distance learning and those who don't have enough equipment and someone to guide them are the most affected. In distance learning, it 's hard to understand and answer the modules without explanation by the teachers as well as engaging with online classes. It's hard to adjust for what we used to, but we need to accept the new normal. We must also at least be happy that the advantages that this kind of learning brings weigh more than the downsides.
Students nowadays are slowly getting used from a traditional classroom to an online learning environment. However,
face-to-face class which is the "tradional" way of learning is undeniably effective. We get instant answers to our questions as well as other concerns and creating a support with other students, and the teachers. We can easily gain knowledge from socialization with fellow student and interaction with teachers.
Face to face learning is also very effective in terms of discovering talents and improving skills by the help of different extracurricular activities and organizations inside and outside the school. It often combines different ways of learning including discussions, writing, group presentations and projects, demonstration and practice that are a big help in molding students. In face-to-face classes we also have greater chance of completing the activities successfully by doing it a classroom as well as the opportunity to interact with different kind of students, problem solving and be a leader of other students from a wide range of backgrounds.
Face-to-face and distance learning are both effective instruments to learn. Though they have some downsides, they really give lots of benefits to students like greater knowledge, different skills and many more. They require a great amount of work and have variety of instructional techniques. They also have a big impact on the future of every student. Whether it's a face-to-face class or distance learning, what matters most is we learned something.
