African philosophy

If you keep watering a plant, it will never grow deep roots, because there is no need to grow deep roots if water is easily accessible. Arnold Toynbee stated that for society to function, for people to be creative, you need challenge. The greater the challenge, the greater the response. And if there is no challenge, you go soft, and by Darwinian process of weeding, you die....... Professor William Sahlman of Business Admin at Harvard Business School.

In summary, you make people struggle for what they need so that they can be more creative and productive.

How realistic is this philosophy?

Is there a situation in which it will be inhumane to adopt it?

How do you think some African Government is adopting this philosophy?

Any positive or negative results?

African government carryout this practice very well but they do it excessive. In the case of a plant, i would describe it in a way that the plant doesnt even get water atall

It's very realistic. Hardships make you strong, if you take yourself through them. Or as Nietzsche said, "What doesn't crush me makes me stronger". If everything is very easy and comfortable, both body and mind get weaker and finally atrophy, die. Everything needs challenges to keep its strength and get stronger.

Compare that to what I wrote about how the immune system is spoiled when you take antibiotics, so it grows weaker because life gets too easy for it when antibiotics make the work. If the immune system instead may work hard to make you well again, it comes out of it stronger. https://read.cash/@Mictorrani/antibiotics-side-effects-of-antibiotics-53aa8e02

It is a general principle for everything. Creativity and productivity as well. However, as a model for society it CAN definitely become inhumane if it is taken to extremes, so some moderation there is necessary. It must be balanced against other values. But surely, life in the so-called first world today is too easy. It is rapidly weakening the genetic pool. Africa might be different, but I am not ready to comment on that. I know too little about African policies and politics, but I am certainly interested in seeing others comment about that here.
