This season might be the biggest season in anime history. Popular names entered the spotlight at the same time. It is a very hard choice of which you need to watch since you cant just watch all of them at the same time. Even choosing Top 10 this season will be very hard. So you can imagine how many good anime might be overlooked and didn't get enough popularity.
In this article, I will going to introduce the anime that didn't crossed the standards that the popular one set. But when you think of it closely its not that actually bad. They have their own strength and can compete with the mainstream and popular one when it comes to story and plot. Sadly these anime didn't get much more recognition but seriously you can't afford to miss these names.
So lets start with...
Kemono Jihen
Genre: Action Mystery Demons Supernatural Shounen
I already mentioned this anime in my past topics that this anime might be the next big shounen. And to be honest I can feel that already. The first episode is awesome. I thought that they will use more CG's in this one, but I am dead wrong. They don't use CG's at all. Even the monsters are made traditionally and to tell you, it's very good. I can feel the Demon Slayer vibes in this anime. The feeling that people overlooked it until later episodes because there are so many popular shows at that time. I have a high expectations in this one. Lets just hope that it break the cliche and generic curse of shounen anime. I will definitely read the manga later.
Black Arrow
Genre: Action Fantasy Mecha
Shame on you if you call yourself Liza fan but only know Demon Slayer. This anime is promising especially to mecha fans. The plot is good and the characters are lovely. I cant believe there are not people talking about this anime (at least not yet). But I will not accept if this anime will stay at being a hidden masterpiece this season. It hold so much room for improvement and I really hope that It gets the popularity and recognition it deserves soon.
Wonder Egg Priority
Genre: Slice of Life
I'm completely frustrated on how this anime gets less hype. Not to mention that this is an original work, which means the story is basically made from scratch and without LN or Manga you cant guarantee its popularity. I know the first episode just released a few hours ago but I can already feel that this anime are being overlooked. Shame on you if you let this anime pass. It got what it takes to take the best anime spot. Good character design and animation, awesome story and thick plot. But what I love about this anime the most is the hidden meaning in its story. I will not recommend this anime to you, but instead I will command you to watch this. Seriously you need to watch this!
Jaku-Chara Tomozaki-kun
Genre: Drama Romance School
To be honest its a bit cliche. I can feel Oregairu vibes here and with the anime Horimiya and Quintessential Quintuplets on the top, I can see that this anime is so underrated. Its not actually bad and not that good either. It's supposed to be average but people rate this anime like the worst anime of all time. The animation is there and I really like the characters. The character development is already noticeable in just the first episode and I can see a very bright future for this one. I hope other people can see it too.
Kai Byoui Ramune
Genre: Psychological Supernatural Shounen
As long as heart exists inside people, there will always be those who suffers. Why this anime so beautiful yet no one are talking much about it. There are so many hidden gems this season who cant shine because of the shadow from the popular anime. And this anime is a great example. Very good plot, good story and beautiful hidden meaning. Its a shame that it is not popular but who cares. For those who watched the first episode and will continue to watch, I congratulate you. You found a treasure this season.
SK8 Infinity
Genre: Comedy Sports
This is just an honorable mention. Its actually not that underrated. I kinda just want this to be more popular. The nostalgia of Air Gear hits me the most and with beautiful animation and character designs, this anime needs more attention. Read my review about this Here to learn more.
Its a shame that these anime cant shine that much as popular one. But I'm glad I discovered them. Its up to you if you'll add them into your watchlist but I'll assure you that you will never regret. Hidden gems are not supposed to be hidden, we need to discover them and show to the world how beautiful they can shine.
