Fabinho was a beast in the last game. He was so solid, was say he deserves to stay at center back over Gomez and matip. I can see him transitioning to CB and Thiago holding down the 6 positions. Fabs not as fast as Joe but is a great tackler and can utilize his passing from deep like big Virg. Exciting times ahead.
Thiago was class too. You could just see the class straight away!!! Even fans got caught out by his vision they weren't ready at times. A good range of passing probably needs more game time to fit into the team better! It’s just going to get better with his unlimited passing range. Those balls towards the front 3 and to the side backs are just mouthwatering.
Fab isn’t as fast, but not every forward is as lightning as Werner. Trent also leaves tons of space behind him, every team targets that side against them. Thiago has great ball retention and can win it back. It’s something Klopp can experiment with.
Fabinho works as CB only because Joe Gomez was so bad some times. But on paper, only Joe Gomez as center-back would've been a better choice. Imagine Joe outpacing and tackling counter-attacks while fabinho deny any chances from midfielders who try to dribble.
Thiago working a bit higher with the front 3. This may be the team Klopp could try against City for example. Trent, we all know he isn't good at defending so a defender who can properly deny counter attacks is needed.
I know how fast Joe is. There was a period where Matip was their first choice to partner Virg, he got sloppy at times then Joe stepped up. Joe has great runs of form but has also been sloppy. All I’m saying is this offers another option. Fab brings something different from the back, and with so many goals conceded with Joe at the back recently, why not give Fab a run. Fabinho is always an option. He gives them a more solid partnership and was great but takes out a bit from the aggressivity in midfield.
